Sei Owner's Club (Part 2)

Hey guys - hope your all well.

I've been seriously neglecting my Owners Club duties over the last little while - my world has gone mad! All good though.

Some big news for some of you guys I see.
Howie - can't be long now, can't wait to see it.
24 - new Sei, good man - sounds awesome. I got a Honduras rosewood neck on my fretted - nice.
Kevin - you got your hands on the slick yet? How about a report.
Kcoble - that is an insane collection you got going on :cool:
7 - I use Newtone strings when I can. Handmade to order yet really competitively priced. I really like them. Prob is the wait so I tend to order 5 sets at a time. I like the DR's but that price - damn...
Mike - it'll soon be rabbit season. To quote Mr Fudd - "shhhh, be wery wery quiet - I'm hunting Wabbits". Keep the faith.

If I've missed anyone's news, sorry.

As for me, well a couple of things need looking at on both basses - a trip to HQ is in order fairly shortly :hyper:

I have been doing loads of playing over the last little while and loving it. My fretless is now my first choice bass - it's official, fretless is where it's at - what a bass. A set of Fatstacks will be going into the fretted, if you've not tried a set of Nordies, do it...

Now, another subject - did someone mention a Sei Owners Club get together?

I know, I know - life's just been a little stressy lately - I need a Sei bass to calm me down! At least my playing is getting better - and I have a new 7 piece funk band to bust some funky moves with now... all good really.

Um, re: the get together - I think the soonest I can even think about this is June - but I will look into venues etc...will get back to you all - I can't go to it until I have my bass and that's just that :smug:

On another note - I'm off to the Musik Messe in Frankfurt next week with the magazine I write for - going to be hanging with Hadrien Feraud and a few others - I'll report back with pics I promise.

Got to catch me a little wabbit bass too...

Hey All,

PADDY - good to hear from you. What is happening? Weren't we going to get together when the fretless arrived?

I had the call about 3 weeks ago saying that it is ready for collection but I haven't bothered to go and get it yet. This is largely due to the fact that I am working all the hours under the sun and I am also involved in the preparation for my son's wedding next week (and the expense associated with it).

It also has to be said that a lot has changed in the 18 months since I ordered it.

Having said all of that, I will love it when I do go and get it I am sure. :hmm:

Howie, sorry to hear you are working so hard. Really hope your son's wedding goes well. Let us know how it went and also how you have found using your existing SEI basses more (noisy pot and all).

Mike, sorry to hear about the extra delay...delays are so much more frustrating when the bass is so nearly ready. My experience is that GraphTech are usually fairly quick at getting stuff out and I know Martin will be keen to install it quickly when it arrives. Hang in there...:hmm:

Kevin, great news...next week cannot come fast enough! :hyper: :bassist:

Paddy, do you think it is just new bass syndrome you are going through or do we have a new fretless bass convert??? :D

Aidan, looking forward to seeing some pictures of your bass.

KCOBLE, the M7 looks fantastic, as do the rest of your basses.

Hey peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppps!

Wow just got back from the Musik Messe - great time was had by all - met John McLaughlin and had a chat - hung out with Hadrien Feraud - saw way too much bass doodling - met some wicked people and fellow bass heads - and......

.....when I got back Alex called to er, say, my Sei will be ready to collect on Tuesday!

Sweet.

And my new iMac 24" Intel Duo arrived yesterday - jeeezuz! I need to go and lie down - and sleep!
