Wow, go Morf! I skipped about the last ten pages of the argument, but I saw enough....
I love how as soon as someone points out the absolute absurdity of the USA gun and self-defense laws all these people get super-patriotic. Of course, that now gives everyone, including moderators, an excuse to bash other countries. Kserg, I'll be happy for you to stay out of NZ, thanks. You want to come here and run someone over, fine. I can go over there and buy an M16 so I can go "hunting". And you think our laws are the strange ones.
Did anyone notice how blatantly and disgustingly racist half of those posts were about France? People saying things like "YOU lost in (whatever battle)" etc etc. Uh, Morf didn't lose in any battle, it was the soldiers in the French army years ago. I could say that YOU GUYS ordered the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, YOU GUYS lost Vietnam and YOU GUYS shoot people, but that is what is called a.......wait for it..........GENERALISATION!!! WOW!!!
And one last thing: If France doesn't fight in wars they're labelled 'pussies'.....ok, so it's way better to just attack without considering negotiations first?

About the M16 thing, it's actually illegal to buy an M16 since automatics are banned under the National Firearms Act of 1934. As for the self-defense laws, different countries, different cultures.
