The Nickthebassist joke was just that, a joke. Not sure if you ever read any of his "legendary" posts, but there were distinct similarities in the two that I was poking fun at. But take that as you want.
As for the Slipknot vs. Gene Simmons joke, again, a reference to Nickthebassist. Personally, I don't have anything against Gene Simmons; I've never listened to KISS. It was just that, a joke.
As far as being offensive goes, one day you'll mouth off to someone who wont take it lightly, and your offensive days will be over I fear. Its sad thats whaqt itll take to make you realize that just because you're 20 years older doesn't mean you're allowed to be a dickhead. Oh well, people learn the way they learn...

It's just the same as all those racist jokes cheezewizz and the rest of the village people make, they laugh and its all in good fun, but the day they make jokes at someone who takes them seriously is the day they'll stop making such jokes. Its sad, but it seems to be the only thing that will make them realize they're being disrespectful and insulting. Actually they probably realize it and dont care, which will make it even more worthwhile for the person who will show them they're not all that funny after all.
