Don’t be so sure. There was a thread here where someone asked about using a capo with bass. And it got the inevitable snarky responses from the “just learn to transpose” and “that’s cheating” crowd.

My view is that the open strings on a guitar allow unique voicings, and if you want that sound in a different key, you throw a capo on. It's not a crutch. It's part of how the instrument works.
