Selfies

.....which is indicative of the kind of narcissism our culture has descended to ..........practicing up on the poses for pictures of oneself....
Do band shots count? Should have worn the shades - snap!

But yeah, people who take several selfies a day...I know 2 of those. Mental illness, Drama-Queen Syndrome. As someone said to one of them "if I grab you will the world spin around us?"

if that's a band pic you'll need to "dress the set"....lose the pedals, stands, all the wires.....fewer things in frame to distract the eye .....use lighting to get rid of the shadows.....

No, not at all a band pic. That is an impromptu "in the band-cave" shot from the guitarist's wife crawling around on floor with her cell phone.. I actually like to keep my pedals up on the rig, much easier while in dialing in stage and less likely to get a mouthful of headstock.

We like the shadows...for those shots. IT's an ugly room, we like to keep the lights low.:D
One below just needed a few beers in the picture, then it could have been part of a commercial,"after midnight Budweiser's got your blues covered".

I take selfies all the time when I'm out fishing. But I don't post them anywhere, I just like having photos to remind me of nice catches and good times on the water.

It's more what you do with your selfies rather than taking them in the first place IMO.

Ya. An actual "selfie" is taken from your smartphone in YOUR hand. Of you.

Doesnt just any type of camera count?

Like someone said i think it's what you do with the selfie that matters more. i've taken pics of myself before, i've not shared them on social media.

To be honest i mind a selfie as much as i mind someone taking pictures of every meal they eat to share on FB, or taking pics of what their baby is doing every half minute (but not cats though, you can take all the pics of your cats you want, i dont get tired of cats, i'll probably think you're a crazy cat person sure, but i'll still enjoy the pics) I just hate the idea of sharing every trivial moment of your life with everyone, and selfies tend to fall into that. Its about oversharing. Some selfies are justifiable (say you just met your favorite musician and there's no one else to take a pic of you two), most aren't. And one or two selfie of you is one thing, 400 is another.

Also, the selfie is sometimes for a lot of people because thats the only way they can truly control what they're gonna look like in a pic. Ever noticed some people are only truly ever good looking when they're taking the pics themselves? hmm.... cherry picking the best of like 30 pics, best angle, best lighting. Your friend is not gonna wait until you have all those nailed to take the picture. Of course, that is kinda called lying (though thats what celebs do..except with professional photographers)

Edpal - the girl taking the pic is drunk and that's why she's on the floor?
Not drunk...but a very hot selfie fanatic. Marginally distracting with her at that height.

My step-daughter(s'not hot:atoz:) will post up 10+ selfies in one day. You'd think it was one of those model photoshoots, click, click every 3 seconds as they move slowly,:scowl:

Yeah, I guess a pic is not always a selfie. Suppose it's what you do with it. It's taken me 5-6 years here to show myself. I'm just not a selfie person. *I want to be in a band where I have never been photographed without shades. "Ah yes, the man behind the shades". Or maybe "Shademaster E" :bassist:
