Set list ethics?

Any band has just as much of a right to play a cover tune as any other band. The key is to play it better than the other bands.
Cover bands aren't about the songs, they are about the performance. They don't own the songs, they didn't write them. AND, 75% of the cover bands out there are playing the same stuff anyway. I also believe that cover bands should have at least a few non-standard cover band tunes to set them apart.

I agree. Most of the really popular cover bands in DFW have their whole set list on the web for all to see. They aren't scared of other bands knowing what they play because the good bands perform them better and make mo money. Don't be scared of cover theft, just practice more :)
