I had the nerve damage in my arm long before I started playing bass. I can't write with my right hand (ie can't do fine movements) and I can't hold a pick. Its been roughly the same since I was in 3rd grade.

Its why I play bass so hard, I don't realize how hard Im plucking the strings.
