Setting up a bass... how do you get clank?

P-oddz....> For me I just dont like the sound of daddarios and I dont like the sound of flats in general. Even if they did clank well, the sound would never be satisfactory to me. I want my clank solid and heavy not wimpy or castrated type, nor meh dull clank, I want big monster clank with nice balance between lows and highs and well done mids. Daddarios are overall good for those wanting smooth rather then crunchy tone, but to me a large part of why I dont like daddarios is their smooth rather then crunchy nature. I like crunchy clank. Daddarios bass and mids dont satisfy me balance wise either. Their clank isnt good clank to me. But may be fine for others.
