Seymour Duncan and Aguilar combo

I have had installed into my LTD bass 2 Seymour Duncan soapbar (SSB) passive pickups and an Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp. The result has been that the bass has dropped in volume by half.
Any suggestions?

Two questions.

1) Is it loud ENOUGH?

2) Do you like the tone?

Volume is so far down that I regard it as a serious problem. Also sound is only half-way decent with Bass full on,Middle and Treble pretty much off.

Hmm, what if you bypassed the preamp just to see if the pickups are working properly, or wire them straight to the jack?

Something is wrong, OPB3 is good..
Draw how you wired it, maybe we can see an issue
