It is most definitely not.

The original EB pickup was a sidewinder.

But the current SG pickup is a normal dual-coil rail pickup.

I have one:

The pickup is two mini Humbucker blade bobbins and a ceramic magnet. Much cheaper /easy to build compared to the original

Secured a order of EB0 chrome covers for our EB0 offerings. They should be here in about 4 weeks. It took a while and some nudging to get the sales manager to let some of these go for sale. Factory chrome covers for Neo EB0 , Alnico versions , SF / Ceramic powered or Alnico 5/Neodymium magnet mix options. 4 connection wiring for coil splitting on designs with enough winds to split View attachment 5422080

There's was some discussion earlier in this thread about Gibson SG neck pickup pole screws not having any effect on string output regardless of the height they are set at. Can the user fine tune string output balance on your pickups by adjusting the pole screws?

The screws only hold the pickup together , they are not functional as far as sound. For those that want a factory style pickup we can rewind or rebuild a Korean pickup in a different design , like a 15k Neodymium version for instance.

The market is quite funny right now. It's a lovely bass and hasn't sold in two months so...my best guess is that it will keep on sitting there for quite some time.

I foolishly took the witch hat knobs off my EB-3 and put speed knobs on it many years ago. Of course I lost the originals. I saw that '68 and it has the witch hats so I bought a set since they look really good to me now. If you ever swap knobs or pickguards, whatever…save those original parts!

8.5 lbs? That's pretty heavy for a 60's EB3. IIRC my EBO is less than 7lbs.

I haven't really bonded with this SG yet, I'm so used to my Warwicks and this is basically the polar opposite, all thump and no definition. So I'm ditching the flats for a set of EB rounds. I like it a lot better already.

Proving we all like different things: as soon as I got my(used)'09 EB-0 home, the rounds came off-trash-and flats went on.

Just picked this up this week. Had to deal with the bushing issue, but some titebond took care of it. Loving this so far. I'm surprised how much I have to dial the tone back. Can I have a number?
