just sharing my newly modded epiphone eb-0. added a bridge pickup, replaced pots with gibson historic pots, replaced jack with switchcraft stereo output jack, installed a tone expander...

here's a link of a demo recorded using an android phone, plugged straight into my washburn bad dog guitar amp...

TV Jones Thunder'Mag. There is no neck pickup. The mudbucker cover hides a pair of 9V batteries, which drive a John East BTB-01 circuit. Looks stealthy and sounds mean. :cool:

looks really nice. i would install the bridge pickup just a little bit closer to the bridge but yeah. It sounds cool too. Really clean sound

EB club...Seems I'm #45, and got in with a 2015 Epiphone EB3 in Ebony...But...I recently bought a 1966 Gibson EBO and sold the Epiphone, along with 8 other guitars and basses.
The EBO came from Texas, and shows lots of use to it's brown finish but the frets and neck are just great, and it plays like nothing else. Working on some pics...also got a new Acoustic 100 watt amp...movin' on up.

I debating on doing a custom build. I have a 32 scale neck that I had ordered for another project but ending up not using it. So it's just been sitting in the box collecting dust. I just got finished building a jazzmaster style guitar for a guy and it turned out good. So I got build fever now lol. I've got a few body blanks of Ash,African mahogany and one of Paduak. The neck I have is maple with rosewood. Thinking of doing an early 70s ebo pickup postion. Just trying to decided which wood I should build it out if.

I'd go with the African Mahogany, it should pair very nicely with the maple rosewood neck.

I have been tweaking a couple of my frankensteined SG basses ...

This one is an Epiphone EB0 body, Eden Neck, neck pickup is a Rickenbacker Humbucker under an Epiphone mudbucker cover, the bridge pickup is a Rickenbacker single coil with a mudbucker cover, the wiring and pots are as per Rickenbacker schematics. The pick guard is spalted maple. Custom straplok extender made by me to kill neck dive. The bridge is black chrome. The gloss finish has been turned satin by a scratchy pad and polish. This one cops a pretty good Rickenbacker tone.

Epiphone eb0 body, Eden neck, Beck pickup single coil and bridge pickup humbucker. Wired VVT like a jazz bass. Pickguard is unfinished canary wood. The body is reliced. The bridge is called a tarnished silver finish. Straplok extender custom made by me to kill neck dive. This one is a joy to play and a tone monster.

Bump

Trying to decide what flats to put on my sg bass. Got it down to Ghs flats or chromes (labella might be too dark?). Chromes might be more versatile in the end but I'm loving the tone and feel I'm getting out of my pbass that has some old Ghs flats on it. I mostly play r&b, soul, walking bass, blues accompaniment.

Can anyone give me any feed back on their experiences? Thanks
