All the electronics need work. The wiring is shot. Volume and tone pots are shot. Output jack is gone. The pickup may or may not work. I have a line on a replacement if it needs it.
Fortunately the neck, frets and tuning keys are fine. The body has lots of dings and wear but I think I'll forego a complete refinish job. Just cleaning it up and leaving the age spots will retain the road weary character.
What strings are you all using? Could help myself and picked up a 2015 SG and need strings. Can't remember what I ended up with on my others that I like so looking for suggestions.

Looking for feel and sound in a mix. Flats are a good possibility but I recently gave TI jazz rounds a try and really like them on a very different Gibson bass. Not they will work for me here.
The Pyramid flats are pure magic on a P bass I know for sure. Wonder how they would do on the SG (mine is stock)? Was the short scale set long enough?
I'm back in the club. Having sold my Gibson SG Standard (stupidly) and gone through many different basses, I've realized short scale is the only thing for me. Back to the SG it is! Found this SG Special for not too bad a deal here in the U.K.
Should fit in well with my 60's cover band. The Classic 50's P bass I was using was killing my hands, changing to a jazz neck still wasn't as comfortable as the short scale neck.

Currently I have LaBella Deep Talking Rounds on mine. Great strings but they have been discontinued. I have had LaBella Deep Talking Flats on it as well. The 760FL set specifically. I always get compliments on the sound when I use those strings on that bass.
+1 on not refinishing it. EB bodies look great with honest wear on them. Good on you for bringing a fairly rare model back to playable condition
I've recently played a really old EB-3 strung with Pyramids. The sound was pretty darn awesome - this is coming from someone who can't play flats to save a life - but they felt kinda floppy. Given that SG is much lighter sound-wise, if you really want flats my first choice would be La Bella Deep Talkin' ones. As for the rounds...ugh. My SS of choice for 34 years was discontinued as previously stated by @christle so I'm trying to figure out that one myself. Given how they behave on my long-scale EB-0, La Bella's Super Steps hold a lot of promise, but for SS they have to be custom ordered with a significant wait time, although I'll likely end up taking that route. In the meantime, DR or GHS might be worth a shot.

*I know it's not the best picture, and I'm not about to get up out of this chair right now, but do any of you know if these 2015 standards are all solid or multiple pieces? I believe this one is one slab, but, if it's not, it's matched beautifully.

I'm using medium scale strings. The shorts are probably a bit short. I also found that the silk reached over the bridge saddles, so I put on a tailpiece.

I use rotosound flats on my EB3-L. I need the extra tension to crank the truss rod down. It helps straighten the action on the lower frets. I got a bum neck joint on mine (and obligitory snapped and glued headstock)
Actually ordered Roto Monel Flats. Have a short scale set on my daughter's bass and like them. Really not liking the stock strings.

That's my experience exactly. Nothing feels as comfortable as the Short-Scale SG in my hands. That's why I now own two of them.

I have a 2014 Gibson SG, and a "limited edition" 2007 Gibson SG, and an Epiphone EB-0. All now wear LaBella 760FL flats. They are sometimes hard to find however...but (for me at least), they are worth the time spent hunting them down. The short-scale version, sometimes called the 760FL-S fit all mine perfectly. Wonderful tone, just the right tension, and very smooth to the touch. Great "Jack Bruce" bark from the bridge pickup.
