I don't understand this logic. Because someone doesn't have an outstanding order they aren't allowed to hold an opinion?

Their opinions are usually misinformed, plus they often decide to post in threads like this because they are on the internet and feel they have to be some kind of crusader with an axe to grind. They have nothing to gain but inflating their ego.

Anyone can post anything on the internet, and they have an audience, but it doesn't make them right. There are lots of assumptions being made.

Just felt like posting this.

;)

Hey everyone... here's a big announcement.

Best Bass Gear are now carrying my pickups. They should be on their site soon.

This means for new orders you won't have to wait as they will be in stock. (as they get them in stock)

For existing orders I am still filling those, and hope to be though everyone's order soon. This news will both help the old backlogged orders as well as new ones.

So moving forward, once the back log of orders is cleared out, there's will be minimal waiting for pickups.

Great news, David. :)

Will they be carrying ND3-HB sets as regular stock? :D

Cheers!

You have been sitting on some peoples money for close to two years and you try and make me out to be a bad guy and talk about my ego? Your post was more ego driven than just about anything I have ever heard.

Looks great. I will reserve most of my excitement for when it's in stock at Best Bass Gear in 5 string format, however.

I'm not even sure when this will be a physical object, but my former partner at SGD designed it, and made that rendering. We are going to 3D print one for size.

For now the pickups that BBG will have will be in the MM cases.

You are making lots of assumptions, like when you accused me of being late with orders because I was making pickups for BBG. It's that behavior I'm taking about. Just because you think it in your head doesn't make you right. But you want to be right, right?

Plus you have no dog in this show. So what's your motivation?

I didn't say you were late because of the BBG order. You were late far before the BBG order. I said that I don't see how having to fill a huge order would leave time for your current orders. There was no assumption in that at all. If you have to fill a large order more of your time will be taken up, how is that assumption? Am I assuming that you have customers that have orders that are close to two years old? Custom or not that is unacceptable, but you get very defensive when this is brought up and you try to spin it around like you were the victim in the situation.

guys, there is already a thread for complaining in:

THIS thread (SGD Lutherie Pickups) has impressions from people with SGD products, soundclips, and tons of product info.

I totally understand that some of you are pretty upset, that doesn't mean that you should start crapping in every SGD thread, potentially burying the good stuff.

Seems like this needs to be said again.
I would like to see SGD get through this tough time. Looks like the arrangement with BBG is a move in the right direction and will allow this small (one man?) operation concentrate on what they (he/she?) is good at - making pickups. In the long run that is a good thing, right?
I am not trying to defend SGD, but you guys have made your point - over and over and over again. In more than one thread. Honestly it seems as though you guys are going out of your way to find SGD. What more can be accomplished by continuing with the constant barrage?
I can certainly empathize with the customers but I can also empathize with SGD. A lot of us have found ourselves in a hole and had to dig ourselves out - let SGD. For a small operation it does not take much to knock things off track. Seems like that is what happened here. Let SGD learn from it, get back on track, and make some pickups!

so far we have a possible better future and stark reality which sucks. sole fact that a number of people are happy that they'll be able to get the pickups without having to deal with David directly is rather telling.
given that in past both David's word and his optimism proved of very little value i'll take "let's wait and see" stance.

and being in a hole is one thing. taking this as an excuse to lie to people one owes goods is entirely different thing.

I would have to agree here. If you bought pickups from him and they haven't been made it doesn't make sense to go on a vendetta against the guy. Him being out of business isn't going to help you get your pups. I'm just glad I can soon order more SGD pups without the wait.

This here is what we call a merry-go-round. David has had business and personal issues, as well as simple Murphy's Law stuff that has happened, making pickup deliveries slow in some cases. We can discuss it back and forth ad infinitum and beat this already dead horse, or we can rejoice in the fact that distribution will now be handled by BBG - a company that specializes in distribution. Hopefully, with distribution covered, David can get his backorders filled and this conversation can turn to just how great these pickups sound. Here's hoping.

If you want to disuade people from buying the pickups, then say your piece and be done. Otherwise it smacks of a vendetta and we don't have either the time or bandwidth for vendetta.

It seems to me that if do not have the time for the criticism, we don't have time for his defenders either. In all honesty, I do not see the point to your post. Aside from inviting disagreement about the situation, it just moves this to the top of the thread list. I really don't plan to remain in this conversation, nor am I going to rehash my long overdue order at this time. But if you want to keep this thread at the top of the list by defending David, have at it.

David's done a tremendous disservice to everybody on this (these) quite long lists of dissatisfied customers. Whether or not it's fraud is a moot point, whether or not his new deal is going to improve his terribly run business is also a moot point, but one thing is definitely true: David has a very long list of people who will (whether they admit on one of these threads or not) NEVER buy (give him money, to buy something, you actually have to receive what you paid for) anything from him again. That has got to be one of the main reasons nobody's received their merchandise: He figures that all of these people are, at best, former customers who aren't going to (attempt to) do business with him or recommend him to anybody ever again so, screw them and whether they actually ever get what I was paid to manufacture for them. I've tried to stay with independent business owners for stuff like this but I've got to say that this is the worst experience in this vein that I've ever had.
