Shellac Finish

It's not as durable as either or those and can be damaged by water or alcohol, but keeping water and alcohol away from your bass is a good idea, no matter what the finish is.

The plus side is that shellac is easily fixed if it is damaged.

Are you planning to brush, spray, or pad?

I will be receiving the bass with the shellac soon, so I probably won't be doing anything to it. I have basses that have nitro and poly on them and I was just curious on how the maintenance differed on them.

I plan on keeping it in it's case when not in use and handled gently so it shouldn't get banged up too bad. I keep this as a general rule with all the basses. Water and alcohol are bad. Good to know. Is there anything that I can polish with? Lint free cloth? Thank you for your response.
