Can't wait to read the article. Thank you for these interviews. Saw Dub Trio live on August 19 with Matisyahu. Great show.
Our band opened for Dub Trio. Stu is a nice dude. Massive sound. We felt inadequate just watching them soundcheck!

I'm not sure Juan really needs an introduction... But just in case...
Juan is the long time effects champion and bass player with Big Sir, Racer X & The Mars Volta to name but a few, Juan has scored his name among the bass elite during his varied career.
Always willing to share his knowledge and experience, Juan was cool enough to answer some questions about his gear and how he uses it...

Saw Ariel, we shared a bill at a music fest on Friday. He was really impressed & grateful for the interview. Very humble cat. I wish I had thought to film their set. The sonic territory he covers is huge. They travel a lot so hopefully you can catch them in the UK.
Wicked dude! They spend so much time on the road it's crazy. There's a band here in UK that we are doing a Euro tour with next month (Alright The Captain) and they have a similar appetite for gigging. 150ish shows a year!

Still think you should hit this guy up, he taught me a very simple philosophy when it comes to effects. "when I step on a pedal/effect, I make sure it's loud and I'm heard". Here's a clip of JM taking a solo w/all his pedals on.

I've added it to the next 'round' - I have about 15 on the go at the mo and I'd don't want the backlog of stuff I need to make time for to get much bigger. When I'm down to a more sensible number then I'll jump on some more!

Radek Bednarz usually goes simply by the name Bond. He is regarded among many bass communities to be one of the founders of bringing electronica and dubstep-styled bass to the live performance arena. His work is at the forefront of what can be achieved on live bass and his work constantly pushes the boundaries of what's possible with stringed instruments.
I've mentioned Bond and his work a number of times throughout my blog and always sited him as an influence of mine. Naturally when he agreed to discuss his set up and approach, I jumped at the chance!
