I sure hope Reverb stands behind the repair cost - regardless if its $500+ dollars. As others stated - that's what the insurance is there for, unless there's some fine print somewhere that explicitly states "not to exceed "x" amount of dollars".
On the other side of that coin, think of the amount of guitars, amps, and what-not that make it to their destinations intact without a hitch. Reverb sure does pocket the insurance money on those too. Sure it sucks for Reverb when there's an expensive fix that they might have to pay out on, but that's the nature of the insurance game. I'll be following the thread to see how this all plays out.
