Ok so this probably should warrant a new thread but Ill just keep this one going.
Soooo ... I’m gassing for a P/J with a jazz neck. So I decided that I’ll go a little higher on the $$. There’s a really nice Atelier Z bass on Reverb, it’s a Jazz Bass with a P in the neck position. It’s the only one I’ve ever seen for sale. The description says it’s in excellent playing condition. I have a standard M245 which is fantastic so I pull the trigger on it. The bass is for sale from a shop in Japan. About a day later I get a message from the seller, The neck of the bass is “twisted “ please wait about a month while we correct the problem. So I cancel the transaction. Full refund received immediately. That bass is back up on Reverb immediately as in excellent playing condition ...
Still in the hunt, although maybe it doesn’t have to be a PJ. Just something different from all of my traditional single coil j basses.
I find a beauty, it’s an Atelier Z with Aguilar big doubles, and the OBP 3 pre. Again I pulled the trigger. The bass shows up, I plug it in and the neck pickup is dead. *** !!!!
The seller is a solid guy, he has another identical bass in stock, which he sends right out upon receiving the defective one.
So to end this thread I now have a beautiful Atelier Z M245A ( A for Aguilar big doubles w/ Aguilar obp 3 )
In summary
Be patient and do your due diligence. Don’t stress about buying on Reverb.
It’s pretty hard to get screwed.
