Short Scale Bass Case?

Anybody have one of these Link Removed? Just wondering if it will fit my Squier VM Jaquar Short Scale, and if it is decent quality. Just want something to store the bass in at home - I only play at home. Right now I have one of those Fender gig-bags for Short Scale basses.

Thanks!
Pete

The site says it does not fit the Ursa 4 Jr which appears to be a SS Jag clone. My guess would be no. I know this thread is over a month old, but it popped up when I was searching for a HSC for my Fender SS jazz and my Squier SS Jag. Don't think I'll find one that fits both.

I was thinking of buying a Rondo SX Ursa 3 JR MN 3TS Short Scale Bass and they recommend theirDouglas BGC-200 BK Bass Case. The case appears to be larger according to the specs on both the case and the bass. 3" too long and 2 1/2" too wide on their case. I prefer a snug fit and would think this short scale bass would move around a lot in that case. Anyone know of a good case that fits their bass which is 43" long and 12" wide on the body?

I still have my Squier SS Jag but also bought a Fender MP SS Jazz bass. Still looking for a case. Same problem that garya points out. Rondo's Short Scale case looks a bit too small and other cases are too big.

I just feel that a hard case provides more protection - even if it is just to bring the bass to my tech for a setup. :D
Protection from what to what, though. Protection for your $149 bass from what?

A hard case is also likelier to cause more damage to the interior of your car and your doors from your hard case banging about on things. Such damage would probably cost you more to fix than whatever could happen to $149 bass, which, you know, if you're talking about anything that would seriously damage such an instrument, we're probably talking about a pretty significant drop. Then, a cheap hard case wouldn't necessarily have prevented damage because a hard case adds weight to the collision, etc.

I've actually never had a hard case for any bass I've ever owned. I had a gig bag even with my old warwick thumb. Never had an issue. I just bought a Lakland Skyline Hollowbody 30. I do think that I want a hard case for that one. But, I'm confident that my gig bags will work fine in the meantime. Any body have any ideas on what case would fit the short scale Lakland?

BTW, I have that Fender gig bag. It's a fine case.

I use a Road Runner case for my SS Jag. It is too big. That's why I don't throw away my old socks. I use them to fill the space where the body is. Cutting some type of foam might be a better idea. If I get motivated, which ain't likely cuz I AM a retired government employee, I might take a picture and post it.

It does provide more protection with a hard shell case. Also, it looks more professional, especially if you go to an audition for a good band. They will get a first bad impression of you showing up with a gig bag instead of a hard shell case. Believe me, it happened to me "once".

I had a hard time finding a case for my home brew Steinberger Headless, which is somewhere between a big guitar case and a short scale bass case in length. I ended up going to GC and digging through a pile of cases to find one that fit perfectly. That might be a safer route unless you can get exact interior case dimensions online.
