Short scale Stingray!

Sorry for the delayed Response. Had a death in the family and needed to sort stuff out with the sweet20 before posting anything.

So the starry night is my friends. The other two are mine. My friend discovered these...he wanted the starry night so I got the other. I really like rosewood but took a chance on the roasted maple...smartest/luckiest move I could have made. This neck out of all the wonderful instruments that I have been fortunate to play in my life, this Neck and Bass are above anything else. I have nothing but respect for Roasted Maple now.

Nothing I can say about the sound between the three. Joe Nerve did reviews a few months back and some videos as well.. I can't think of anything better than he said.

As for the feel, The white one as others have said just seems underpriced for what we get that bass other than the tuning keys is pretty much flawless and a dream to play.

The Starry night vs. The Burst... if my eyes are closed I can't really tell the difference. Maybe, a tiny maybe and its probably in my head but maybe I like the neck on the burst 1% better ... but then again thats the one I own and I think my dog is better than the other dogs so take that 1% with a grain of salt.

I never really understood the ernie ball/musicman fans. Nothing wrong with them in anyway but just were not as comfortable as my PBASS or G&L SB1 but I get it now... these Short scales from every possible angle have me apologizing this is some amazing quality and I am nothing short of grateful for being in a place that I can buy mine and a such a close friend of 30 years so close by with the starry night is pretty fantastic as well.

Received my Starry Night this evening and I am blown away by the quality, feel and sound of this Bass..Freaking Amazing! Super light weight. The action is a bit high because it had a little to much neck relief on it. Figured that was from the extreme hot weather lately and transit in a hot truck. I did a slight adjustment and it should settle and then the Luthier can do a good setup on it. It really does sound, feel and play like a high end 34" Stingray but all packed into 30" :D

So just got a bunch of pics back from the luthier of my Starry Night disassembled and let me tell you the beauty isn’t just skin deep. Stoked I grabbed one of these babies before they sold out. I noticed Sweetwater is down to their last 3. Can’t wait to get the parts I ordered in to finish modding this baby!!!

Hello to everybody. Here my opinions:

I have receive my EBMM Short Scale Stingray - Vintage Burst just yesterday. I can confirm that built quality is amazing, set up is definitely not the best - action ultra high and one of the knobs was not tightly attached to the pot. But I know how to set up the bass by myself, then no prb.

The feeling of the neck is fantastic, respect to my sire bass P7 I really can go faster and much more comfortably. I have small hands and I feel this neck is really shaped for them. I also found the strings to have a nicer feeling when plucking with my right hand, I can play effortless.

Regarding the sound since I'm used to a PJ it sounds very different to my ears, of course it does not have that mellow sound of the P, but it has an aggressive tight sounds that can cut through the mix like nothing else. Single coil mode is the one to be used for a more classic sound and it is great with a pick ! Series mode is great for aggressive metal players, while parallel mode is the best for slap.

For Slap I have to adapt a little bit my technique, because the body is smaller, the neck is longer and sometimes I hit the volume knob with the right hand.

Also the tone knob is a powerful tool to shape the sound.

I wish you all a nice day,

Claudio

Was going to get a spector Bantam bass. After finding out thar neck is 1.65. Decided to g ed t the starry night EBMM stingray. I wish ladt years models had these necks. Now I have a maple and rosewood fingerboard. These basses are awesome. Jealous that you got both years! You should swap necks I think it’d look bad ass with them flipped!

yeah, I wanted all maple necks but that starry night body sparkle got me.
I don’t blame you I wanted at least one of mine to be all maple but ended up with double rosewood with Starry Night and a SBMM Olympic white SS. Lol. Fingers crossed next year the all maple offering is a color I’m into. I really like the vintage this year but can’t rationalize two of the same year at the moment lol.

Great looking set!

Is this year’s body a little smaller than last year’s?
