Short scale Stingray!

Hi Pulled the plug and went for it, used my Starry Night for the first time yesterday at band rehearsal (socially distanced of course), really happy with the feel and the tone. Very comfortable, light but still has enough weight for it to feel quality it that makes sense. Tone wise, very punchy and sat perfectly in the mix ... Looks ace too.
Very happy so far, let's hope I get to gig it in anger at some point this century !!

I’m sending my pick guard from my Starry Night to Precision Guitars in AZ for a pickguard if anyone needs a place to order a custom pickgaurd they should have it soon to use as a template!

Also sending in the control panel from my Starry Night as well as my SBMM Olympic White SS control panel to precision to have him cut me matte black ones since any alternatives I’ve tried have been failures lol.

That might work out well Aj cause the plastic will be lighter..for sure a lot lighter than the SBMM control plate..I know the EBMM control plate is aluminum but still the matte black plastic should be lighter :bassist:

That must be only a few grams...

I would get an anodized aluminium plate. Gold with the silver knobs would look pretty snazzy against the Starry Night.

Parts from Ernie Ball arrived! As soon as Precision Guitars can get me a control plate mailed out I’ll be able to reassemble my bass! Ugh I can’t waitttttt

Man still waiting on the pick guard and control panel from Precision Guitars so I can put my bass together. Really wish I had sent a tracing instead of my actual parts. Dude has had them almost a month now. Confirmed he received them in a email and then radio silence since.

might have to purchase a new control panel from Ernie Ball just to put it back together if I don’t hear anything soon. Really bummed.

nice! You got the opposite 2 than I have! The pearl pickguard on the blue short scale looks great!

(ps if you ever get the desire to neck swap the sterling let me know! Trying to have one rsosewood shorty and one maple)
I think I have moved pass rosewood, I have unknowingly become addicted to maple and the roasted maple is beyond words. My last 3 basses have all been maple necks.

Got my control panel and pickguard from precision finally!!! Took forever but he sent me two options for the control panel. One exact to spec and one with a little more lip. Not sure why but nice to have a choice I guess. He also shielded the control panels which I wasn’t expecting and was a nice surprise. Was expecting to have to shield it myself. Gonna pop these babies onto the bass Monday when it gets reassembled and a proper setup.

How's it going, looking forward to seeing the transformation !!
