Should I be scared

Hey All

I really Like the idea oif hanging my bass from the wall (and 2 others when i get them). If i was gonna do it i would use something like this:

2 Problems:

1) Will it damage anypart of the neck or bass (like neck relief or something)

2) Is there a high chance that the bass will drop off the wall (say slam a door hard)? I don't want to kill my FB4!


Who here mounts there basses on the wall - and which basses do you mount (good ones, bad ones?)

Mounted wall hangers are nothing to worry about. Just make sure the screws are secure and you'll be fine. I've never had a problem.

Make sure the wall hanger is mounted solidly and not just screwed into sheetrock.

I'm not gonna do it at the moment cos i only have one bass i like (other one is half dead and crap) and one mounted bass seems like a bit of a pointless thing 2 do.

But when the jazz bass becomes a realization then i will.

I use something similar to what you are going to use...And i have 3 basses hanging...It's nice to be able to just grab em and play....
+1 to the screws, all mine are screwed directly into the studs! never had a problem

yeah but if i, personally, was going to hang my basses on the wall then i would make sure i hit the stud. just to be safe

Just punch holes in the wall till you find a stud. That's what the manly men do.

if you have an electric shaver, and an extension chord, you can find the stud

It really isn't that hard to find a stud by tapping on a wall. Much cheaper as well.

Hilti makes a product called Togglers, available at most Home Depots. They're way stronger than drywall mollys and very easy to install. I've got two basses hanging by them on Hercules hangers, which also rock.
