I love the bass but want something new.
I voted no for this statement alone. In this type of situation, I'd suggest playing any bass you'd swap your current one out for, because you want to find one you love MORE.

YEAh, MIJ Fenders are good instruments, but, the pickups, hardware and fret work is a lot better on the US basses- especially the American Pro II seriesI have both of these basses. I would do it. The MIJ isn’t nearly as nice. I’ve owned a lot of MIJ Fenders and none of them compare to the newer US stuff.
