Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Even the power cables saved a few mm which was significant with this layout. The EBS Gold are so much smaller than the originals also, which I didn't realise until I stumbled across a comparison pic on the interwebs.
I've also been meaning to chime in about your excellent cable management and use of board real estate, I know it takes a bit of work to get that down to the level you have it.

A couple questions - you said The EBS Gold are so much smaller than the originals - by originals do you mean normal brass-end cable types?

I didn't get the EBS, instead I got Rockboards, not sure if there is a size difference. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] (strange URL rendering...)

Also you said the power cables saved a few, EBS make power cables? The power cables that came with my Accel power brick are small as well not sure they could be any smaller but always looking to compress things.

I'm keeping it really simple on this one.

Yeah the EBS Gold are smaller than the original EBS flat patch cables, and yes, they do power cables now also.
I have used some rockboard cables in the past (rockboard bender cables), but for this board the square ends on the rockboard ones weren't going to work. I believe they are the same thickness though.

New kid on the block ! (LMB-3) Owned it before, i bought it yesterday back from they guy i sold it 5 years ago !
I am very happy with this current setup, Comp and BDI are always on, and on my metal projects or power trios ODB-3 is always on as well. MT-2 is my fun pedal, and is there to instanty help me mimic the sound of a trembly high gain metal guitar. Blend from odb-3 and parametric mids of mt-2 along with the insane amount of gain those 2 guys have give a lot of tonal versatility !

i am thinking about velcro-ing the other side as well. BCB-30 does not like frequent pedal changes, and the plastic corners are not tight around the pedals anymore.

next step is upgrading from batteries and cheapo power supply i currently use.

thanks for reading guys, : )

enjoy !

Another thing that I like about both EBS' is that they come in 10cm, 18cm, & 28cm (being equal to 4", 7", and 1'.)

Several times in the past when redesigning the boards the 6" Rockboards were just under 1" too short, so that 7" length from EBS (instead of the standard 6") really 'connects' with me ;)

and yes, they do power cables now also.

I just happen to be in the market for some new power cables too, so that is good Intel :)

Anyone have a line on the EBS power cables in the US for a lower price than what Sweetwater is listing them?
Sweetwater reps will sometimes do deals, especially if you buy in bulk. Can neither confirm nor deny I did this with some of the EBS power cables. When I was looking I only found one or two other suppliers, period, and they weren't obviously cheaper by the time shipping, etc., was factored in.

Tore apart the larger board this evening (under the supervision of Chyna) to produce this more compact one for use with a different band this weekend (the compact-ness of it wouldn't have been at all possible without those smallest EBS gold audio cables!) >

The modded for quiet GE-7B just arrived today, and I'm testing the Utility Knife's chorus against my Bass Clone. EQD Hoof is on loan from the other bands guitarist, and I'm really digging it!!!

Thanks for the pic. Dumb question, but, are both ends the same style (aka not Cioks-compatible)?
Ya, unfortunately they are not Cioks compatible. I've been switching over to the Cioks stuff and wish they'd work for that. But on the flip side the space savings with the EBS power cables is honestly very minimal. The gold patch cables make a huge difference, not so much for the power cables IMO.

Oh indeed I misread @Pops OB's post

I'm actually interested to know the answer regarding the POWER cables as well!
I think the only places I could find them at were Sweetwater and Gear Hero.

They have angled-angled and angled-straight cables but yes the barrels are the same on each end.

This is mostly true, though I like that (a) they are available in a variety of lengths and (b) they are flat and flexible. This helps a lot with the underboard stuff. Sincerely, a guy who bought way too many of them earlier this year and totally isn't trying to justify the purchase.

I think the EBS power cables make the most difference with pedals such as MXR and the TC mini pedals where the power socket is on the same side as the input. If you use EBS flat patch cables and a standard power cable you don't get the full space saving of the EBS patch, but when your use the EBS power cable, it sticks out the same amount as the patch.
