This is the setup for a weekend gig.

I'm out of space...guess I need a pedalboard stretcher.

How do you like the Josh Wah? I'm using a C4 for filtering at the moment on my board, but unfortunately will have to swap it out for a dedicated filter with top jacks to save space (I was going to get a Spectrum as a dedicated filter but got convinced to spring for the C4 - I'm not losing much by swapping it out). I'm considering something like a Proton/Mictrotron III/Xerograph Deluxe but hadn't thought about the Broughton. What're your thoughts?

Had a quick detour with a slightly bigger board but decided that compact is the way to go. But I can still get so much sounds out of this and the control given by the MC3 is outstanding. The Aftershock is new and the ability to go from clean to warm tube to crazy fuzz depending on what the rest of the board is doing and have everything controlled by the MC3 suits my needs like a glove. I know the case is a little too big but it's too good not to use and it hides my cable routing.

Hello again team, its not about a new type of effect for me this time, but more of an upgrade in terms of tone neutrality and quality...

I love BDDI v1 and LMB-3, but more eq options on v2,(less scoop) and the multiband mode of the ebs (no baked in eq like LMB) simply let me find my spot easier(and faster) between the screaming guitar stacks. I have space for 2 more pedals, and i am Gas-ing on Bass soul food atm. I need a nice boost- drive for some special parts. The silicone eartips are there just to help me avoid any unwanted 'touching' between my cables.

Has anybody used the Ehx bass soul food ? Another pedal i am considering is the Rattler Bass by our local pedal superheroes JAM, here in Greece.

Cheers !

I have a bass soul food. it is brilliant, but mine developed a fault after 2 years.
I now have a Walrus Audio eras distortion, which is a different beast entirely. I'm still figuring out how to get the sound of a pedal half the price (the BSF) out of it...

Another similar pedal to my ears is the Darkglass Vintage Microtubes. I'm afraid that's all the advice I can offer.

If you have the cash, get the BSF to see if you like it. It's a real sleeper pedal: it does sound very good. I was just unlucky with mine.

The Rattler will sound very very different! Much more distorted, less 'crunchy' than the BSF. The Rattler is based on the ProCo Rat, which is a high-gain distortion/fuzz; the BSF is based on the Klon Centaur, which is a low-gain overdrive/distortion.

If the Klon sound is what you want, the Rattler probably won't get you there.

Peace,

Thank you for your feedback. Its not the first time i hear about faulty EHX units. But i like its tone, and i am thinking about buying it new, so i can return it easily if its malfunctioning. I need good articulation, and not something super high gain. I know the rattler is more of a distortion, and double the price of the BSF, but i ve witnessed it being able to produce some really nice lower gain stuff too. I think i am going for BSF, thank you very much again, i have a gut feeling that BSF+BDDI will produce some kick ass tones.
