I use something similar. Rolls PM55P. Love it, can be powered by 9v battery or my power supply.

I haven't seen a basswitch or xblender on a board in a long time. I do like the application of newer and older pedals. My final evaluation of the "compact pedalboard" has comedown to the issue of format, fusion, flexibility and function.
I don't want a deep board or the requirement to drag everything everytime. Also, there are always on and not always on pedals. And routing options are a priority, along with enjoying better access to moving parts is nice, too.
My solution is two (2) small Mono Nano boards end to end. An Eventide PowerMax, with a modification channel cut into the side of the primary Nano to run the power cable under. A Night Owl Edison, Basswitch Classic Boost and a One Control Hooker's Green Bassmachine go directly to the iSP BETA preamp.
Must have a volume pedal free wheelin' on the ground for best results. That goes for the patch selection with a Saternworks multi-switch for the Strymon Mobius, too. (It was crazy to find out that I can route effects before or after the Darkglass Photon, by the way the stereo I/O's on the Mobius are patched and a preset is configured in the menu. Wild! These are powered off the PowerMax as well.)
All runs from the Xotic X-blender in the adjustable wet/dry EFX loop on the iSP preamp. The looper is more handy for me not being crowded on the board.
YMMV.

What are people's favorite end-of-chain XLR out pedals? I think I need something with this capability, but I'm not sure what direction to go. Q-strip? Sansamp VT? something else?
I went with the tech 21 q\strip. Feels like a good fit for me, but we will see. Comes on Monday.I think any quality DI or Preamp would be a solid choice.
I would say go Preamp with XLR out if you want it to add some flavour, DI if you want a more unaffected signal.
The Q\Strip is a great choice - excellent DI with all the tone shaping of, well... an EQ strip!I went with the tech 21 q\strip. Feels like a good fit for me, but we will see. Comes on Monday.
Question for all of the players who have a cab sim/sansamp at the end of your rig: does it sound good to have the cab sim sound going into an amp AND going into a recording interface AT THE SAME TIME?
Trying to get my head around it, but maybe not a big deal.
Seems like a cab sim would sound great going into an interface, but not as good going into an amp because you are simulating what's going on in real life but then actually getting a real amp sound and maybe both at the same time isn't going to sound as good in the end.
Just trying to get my head around the concept. Asking here instead of starting a new thread because so many people use SANSAMPs at the end of their chain.
I'm going to add a tech Q\strip to the end of my chain and just wondering if it's going to sound good going into both the Focusrite and my amp at the same time. You can do some cab sim settings on the Q\STrip and wondering if that's worth it.
I'm certainly no expert, so take this as you will, but I've read that if you are running your signal into an actual physical amp/cab, it's better to not have simulation going at the same time. That's why so many people split the signal and send a clean (non-simulated) tone to their onstage amp, and the effected tone to the DAW/front of house. Sending a simulated signal into an actual physical amp/cab is going to get you a mixed (and less clear) signal.
I hope that helps some.
My situation is using an HX Stomp direct to in-ear monitors and front of house, so I'm not using a physical amp, so I haven't tried it out for myself, I've only read about other people's results.
I totally get that. My basic gig board is a Boss tuner & PD7 Phat Hed overdrive. It's all I need for about 80% of my shows. The bigger board plays the bigger venues though. Cool board by the way! After countless hours or research and reading, trail and error, and subsequently amassing a small hoard of boutique pedals my commute to band practice has reduced my board to the smallest board consisting of 20 year old discontinued boss pedals. Also the smallest board I’ve had in ages.

That is a very nice set up there sir. I'm trying to get us to go ampless as well. Very interested to hear your take on the HX Stomp vs. the GT-1000Core.
