The Source Audio Spectrum/C4 will do phasing, as well as filter and sub octave. Might be worth your consideration.Current iteration, tight fit but I might need an octave soon, probably will need top jacks like a octavbre mini (shouldn’t have sold it). A mini chorus with top jacks might help a little, but hard to find a small phaser with top jacks. I may also look for a smaller alternative to the bassrig. I’m open to recommendations.View attachment 4719826
I really like the small footprint, but probably the easiest option is get the metro 20, but then I won’t be in the compact club. The Source Audio Spectrum/C4 will do phasing, as well as filter and sub octave. Might be worth your consideration.
If you look to up-size your board, have a look at the Voodoo Lab Dingbat Small-EX. It’s not much larger than the metro 16, but it is a much more functional size (18” x 10”) that allows two rows of pedals, as well as full-size wahs.I really like the small footprint, but probably the easiest option is get the metro 20, but then I won’t be in the compact club.![]()
I’d looked at the two tiered vertex boards but they are too expensive. If you look to up-size your board, have a look at the Voodoo Lab Dingbat Small-EX. Memorial Day sales and GAS pushed me to put together my dream team pedalboard that consists of mostly classics, modern classics, and reissues of classics. Upgraded from a Pedaltrain Nano+ to a Rockboard Tres 3.0 and everything is powered by two Ernie Ball Volt power supplies.

Which one would be better choice to have a “clean” octave down sound? Sometimes I want the envelope sound but sometimes I just want the octave alone. The Source Audio Spectrum/C4 will do phasing, as well as filter and sub octave. Might be worth your consideration.

I have the same DI, and for the same reason. Here is my compact board for the summer tour 2022. The backup DI is intentionally passive - the backup path ought to be as autonomous as possible.
They both can do this equally well. The C4 is, to put it in somewhat grotesque terms, a Spectrum+; everything the Spectrum can do, the C4 can do, plus the extra synthesis functions. So, either will do the filtering, octave down, and phaser bits.Which one would be better choice to have a “clean” octave down sound?
