Need some input here, I`m building a small pedalboard for amp-free gigs.. Bought an Mxr M81, `cause I tought I didn`t need anything more than tuner-compressor-preamp pedal.. Then I recently discovered the magic of parallel prosessing, so I`m planning to buy an Boss LS-2 and a decent overdrive pedal.
But in all this GAS-euphoria, i start to think, if most of my tone comes from the preamp pedal, how would the clean tone/distorted tone sound trough the preamp pedal when i go DI to FOH?
Should i also get an DI-box to FOH, and put the MXR81 in front of the Ls-2?
Or am I overthinkin`here..?

Well, if you would stop standing behind people I'll explain it for you mysterious one...

So, during my research for just such a compressor...I found a picture from another Rothwell true believer...

JohnK did a great interpretative job on this one...

I thought the black switch cap gave it a great "Blackhole" vibe with Stanley Kubrick decending...

No artifacts, no pumping and breathing, no extra tone tricks and isn't a limiter with ZERO noise.

WOW!!! I'm the same guy. I've got a couple of pedals getting customized right now. There's just some stuff that I don't appreciate bc of how it looks... soooo yeah, I modify WAY too many things in life. That pedal looks FANTASTIC!!! In fact -your entire board is aesthetically pleasing. I can dig it!!!! #PlayMoreBass

Crikey, is it a clock, or some kind of Stargate?

Time can be a powerful ally or your worst enemy. The Chronograph power-up grants you control of time. Take control of time and you'll take control of your destiny. The struggles of staying on schedule will be a thing of the past, lost in the abyss of time itself.

I hope ya don't mind that I didn't check with you first, but, I spent $6.31 on a new set of cabinet corners on my 1994 Henry the 8 X 8 cabinet, after cleaning it, and spent another $3.99 on new nickel screws/washers to hold the grill on...rust.

I know you'd approve of the new black powder coating for the grill just because it's #fengshuibaby!

The various positions for the input, output and power jacks makes having a "compact" board a challenge, but I'm pretty happy getting all this onto a Templeboard Solo18.

The green Nobles ODR-mini overdrive just replaced a MXR Phase 95. Phase is my absolute fave bass effect. It sounds so cool. Yet in all my years, I have yet to cover a song with that effect. Pink Floyd's "Have A Cigar" is the only song I'm even aware of having a phaser on the bass.

The Nobels is for mild grit. It's "not bad." My fave for mild bass overdrive is the EHX Hot Tubes, but it won't fit and I refuse to get a bigger board! I absolutely love the MojoMojo for more aggressive distortion.

Radial Big Shot I/O > TCE Polytune 3 (buffer on) > Bass Envelope Filter > EHX Pico POG > Diamond Bass Compressor > TCE Mojomojo Overdrive > Nobels ODR-mini > TCE Buffer (underneath board) > EHX Bass Clone Chorus > TCE Flashback Mini Delay > TCE Spark Boost Mini.
