Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Frustration board update...

Midi Baby 3 is off...for now, the PC editor has come a LONG way, but it's still a little clunky to get around (but WAY better than it was, and the peeps at Disaster Area are amazing to deal with if you have tech questions), I'm not super fluent in midi which makes it worse, and not necessarily all the MB3's fault.....

Went back to a tuner since the HXS tuner just isn't quite there for me...I put my Polytune Mini back on, and for whatever reason it won't pass the signal through, it turns on and tunes just fine, but there's no output even when bypassed, I'm beyond mad, this thing is less than a year old...I'll put it on a shelf until I need to hammer a small nail or something...it should work OK for that....:rage::poop::thumbsdown:

A new Korg Pitchblack X Mini is on the way (should be here Tues.), I've never had a problem with Korg, and I never should have stopped using them...Until it gets here, the Kliq mini is back in rotation (a great budget tuner BTW).

The Blower Box is back! Man I missed that thing, but the cover band didn't really dip into the waters this thing swims in...until now, so it's back and I'm building patches in the Stomp just for it. :bassist:

Studio Bass Comp is back too, I didn't think I'd miss it, but I did, so I made space.

New green knobs for the Stomp...It's the little things. :)

Couple of small updates. Put the Donner Tutti Luv Chorus on the main board. Use it for a few songs where the HX One is occupied with something else. This little cheap chorus is my favorite. It’s not special but it sits just right for me.
Also, wanted a clean preamp/shaper for when I’m using my passive P bass. Use the Regal in the HX One a lot with the P, but when it’s occupied, wanted something there and I just love what Darkglass does with mids. When I’m using my active J, it will serve as a boost as needed.

Hello good people, looking for some advice/options for a mini tuner and a preamp that's as small as possible (was initially thinking mini pedal but am having pretty significant GAS on the DG Harmonic Booster). This is for my practice/case sized pedalboard which is below but I think it needs a little saturation on somewhere, instead of the clean boost. Mini tuner is aimed at making a little space for the preamp. The Octave and the delay are both on there all the time and i switch out the dirt depending on what's needed/what I'm feeling like.

If you don't mind using a clip on, the TC Electronic UniTune Clip-on Chromatic Tuner works great. I found it to be very accurate, quick, and has a very low profile especially after you fold it back down after your done tuning. Sometimes I forgot it's on there. That way you could open some space on your practice board.

I've never used a clip on before, will check some out. Thanks!

If that board is a nano, you could probably get close with a Strobo mini and a HB.

It is a Mono Lite but I think that's the same size as the Nano (?). This is pretty close to what I have in mind and oddly have a very similar looking pedal playground page up now. I have the Peterson mini on my gig board so was considering getting another brand (Korg Pitchblack mini) just to keep things interesting but i am a big fan of the input/output on top of the strobo.

Also, would you put the HB at end of sig chain? I'd been thinking of having tuner>oct>HB>dist.>delay but am not stuck firm to that.

I'd try the Harmonic Booster both before & after your OD/Distortion to see what you like better. I always ran the HB before OD/D as that allowed me to tailor a sound that worked for me, but you may find that the sound you're going for lends itself to shaping the tone after distortion.

Another thing to consider is, are you planning on using the HB as an always on thing (that's the way I used it), or do you want to use it as a boost. Before distortion set above unity will allow you to drive your distortion into higher saturation. After the distortion will give you a volume bump & EQ shift.

This is great intel, thank you. I am imagining having the HB as an 'always on' and feed into a Pork and Pickle as the P&P has a blend knob. I like the blumes sound and it's fine when there's no eq/saturation ahead of it but would love a blend on there too to fill things out a little more.

Holy crap do you really run the level that high on the Blumes? That would tear down a city block

Like other said, I would try it both ways. I have mine at the end now, but in the next week or so, I am going to move it before the drive and see how that works.
