That's why I frequently point this problem out, particularly so when people claim that top-mounted jacks are better than side-mounted. Feet are a certain width, especially with shoes on. The width of the pedal is not what matters, it's the center-to-center distance of the footswitches that matters. There's a reason Boss makes their BCB pedalboxes with the slots 100 mm on center.
That is why I always wear my Chelsea boots so I can hit the switches with the point of my boot.
