Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Mixer added for selecting and blending the Zoom and ToneX amps

Switched over to a desktop-type pb approach…tray sits over my Eich T-900 amp—on top of a computer monitor shelf. All four pedals are in the effects loop. Makes it easier to try different pedals/chain order. (I mounted a Cioks DC7 to the back side of the angled tray)…

The MORE is in front to reduce both OE pedal’s noise floor to dead quiet. Btw, the ZeroFive Audio Lowrider is an absolute mega-impactful tone-thickener pedal…like, where’s this pedal been all my life?!

The description of the Lowrider sounds great. Out of stock sadly.

Keep checking the website—they’re really good about announcing their next release day (a few weeks ahead of time…)

I’m finding it’s not a one-trick pony…optimum settings (via the selector knob) for home or gig use…easy to dial in, imo/ime.

Thank you for the feedback. One more question if I may. If I position the compressor before my Sansamp, then I am only conditioning my bass signal right? So wouldn’t putting the Sansamp after the compressor “remove” the compression and open up my sound purely to the dynamics of the Sansamp?

No. If you put the compressor before the Sansamp, the degree to which your dynamics are dampened will be constant throughout the chain after the compressor. You may still have dynamics as long as the compression isn't too heavy handed, but, by definition, if you are compressing, dynamics will be diminished to some extent. Experiment with the comp in both positions and put it where you enjoy it most. I generally prefer it 1st because I use tube preamps and I like the extent of OD to be consistent....and I hate noise.

@Ant B 2023 this is the crucial bit; you gotta experiment. It also depends on what you are using your compressor for. I always have mine dead last in the signal chain, to avoid squashing any playing dynamics (which influences how the other pedals react/sound). But I also use my compressor mainly for peak limiting, so having it after all the noise-makers makes the most sense in my setup.

@Ant B 2023

With only a tuner, BDDI and a good compressor your settings will likely dictate how the noise floor is and how heavy the compression is.

It sounded like you had tried both positions and found the after position sound/felt best, to you. I probably wouldn't ring your hands too much on the politics of compression all things considered. :cigar:

Roots rock tonight. Not bringing "effects," since I've mostly stared at them wishing for an appropriate moment to stomp on them at prior rehearsals. Only utility gear today. The Mantic as an an always on low end boost sounds really great, especially when paired with the mid-forward setting in the comp and high gain preamp setting.
