I have been messing with a whole heap of ideas recently, but it was time to lock something in with recording and gig dates approaching. These are the core my sound with the two metal bands I’m playing with. Playing Drop C and D standard with a EBMM Stingray and Fender Troy Sanders Jaguar.

Wah > Junction box > Poly tune 3 Noir > Wren and Cuff Elephant Skin > Fuzzrocious Big Fella (18v) > Empress Bass Compressor > Sans Amp VT > Broughton HPF (18v) > Junction box

Still refining mine, but working on a modular approach where I can patch things in for specific gigs/projects.

Hi
What’s that little whoosymawhatsit next to the tuner?
1 band para metric eq

I’m using it as a boost currently (which it does well) but I have a JHS Prestige arriving soon so who knows.

I know I've said this lie too many times but... I think I have completed my pedalboard (for now). But I am really proud of it.
With the Rolls: I hadn't used the Rolls for a couple of years. I even thought about selling it. Luckily, I didn't. Let me tell you what happened in my last gig. We were playing at 9 pm last Saturday. Guitarist called at 11 am saying that he can't play because he is sick (he has a strange dissease). He couldn't even stand up. So, we had to call a friend of mine who had joined the band a week ago to cover him. He had to learn 24 songs for the gig. He did pretty good. But anyway, we all have in ears for this band. We thought that the venue probably had monitor wedges... but htey didn't. Luckily, I thought about that possibility and I took my Rolls with me. Knowing that my friend didn't have IEMs, I took cables. I lent him my wireless IEM and I used the Rolls with cables. I heard everyone perfectly. I will never leave my Rolls at home again.
Besides, if I am not going wireless with my bass, I will use wired IEMs. I have built a dual cable to do so.
Anyway, Cioks SOL underneath powering everything: Boss TU3w--> Cali76-->HX Stomp-->Canvas DI. From the HX Stomp I take another output to the Rolls. I know I could use The Rolls as a DI and not use the Canvas, but I use it as a Line Isolator and works perfectly. I prefer the Canvas.
In case I need to go wireless, The Boss can power my Relay G10sII or I can use the Fender Telepath, which works great. Then, from the Rolls, I use the headphones out to my Sennheiser XSW. Not ideal, but it works.

Without the Rolls: this will be my usual pedalboard. In most of my gigs, I have a monitor guy or I can make my own monitors with my ipad, so I don't really need the Rolls. The D'addario XPND really works great.

“Always on.” Working on clean tones. Going into my first in-ears/no amp situation, and the music doesn’t really call for effects. The DI coming out of the Messenger at the bottom bugs me, but I suppose it doesn’t matter as the board can be tucked away anywhere as it’s always-on. Got some more stuff coming to experiment with, I’m very excited in particular for the JPTR Deluxe Jive, Broughton RFE, and Sushi Box Underground Accelerator and Finally v3. Hoping to be able to replace the More and Messenger with the RFE and Finally, acheiving similar results and buying myself a tiny bit more real estate.

I went ahead with this plugless concept; and here is the result.

The power bank is 40,000 mAH, and seems like it will go 5 or 6 shows between charges. I have quite a few gigs this year, which will be served by my passive Fender P; and this board is perfect for that bass. Can’t wait.
I was just getting started!

Here is the updated plugless board config:

Added: Broughton “Always On” HPF, AMT Bricks A Bass Preamp

I can pretty much use this board with every bass I own, active and passive, into just about any powered speaker. I plan to put it into a QSC K10.2 for one of my gigs, and into the Effects Return of a GK Legacy 112 for the other. Really big gigs, I can go into my QSC GX7.

So much versatility in such a little package.

I previously reviewed the AMT A Bass, comparing it to my Alembic F1X. Very similar, though not quite the dynamics of the rack unit, if you are cork sniffing. Nevertheless, it’s the cat’s pajamas on this board.

Got the sniff of a musical project on the horizon so got some new toys and made a mini board.

The Accountant and Two Notes Opus are new and really tie the board together. Lots to dig into with the Opus and very little to dig into with The Accountant but they both sound excellent.
Where's all the EAE?? The mother doesn't count! 🤣
