Show me your epiphone/gibson EB/SG basses

Nah, that makes sense. Just confused me because Barkless Dog's EB doesn't seem to have those slots. Hence the question.

Cool beans. I just have this habit of making things too wordy and a lot times making it incomprehensible.

Very dumb question, but what does the term "Slot Head" refer to? I know nothing about EBs/SGs so I'm trying to learn about them.


Great looking basses folks. I wish I can find one at a good price.

It was a 69 Slot head EB-0 that when I bought it on Ebay ($200) it had a custom made new unfinished replacement neck set in it, sans the slots. All it had was the pickup, bridge & body

Here's my Epi EB-0, stock except for GHS flats and a new pickguard. I've been thinking about replacing the pickup with a DiMarzio Model 1 and maybe replacing the tuners (I'm not sure if it goes out of tune because of the tuners or because they get knocked when I squeeze it into the gig bag).

I seem to have to tune my "Viking" Epi EB-O more often in the course of a gig than my main bass... I wonder if upgrading the tuners would help... I have spent plenty of time stretching the strings and playing and breaking them in... any thoughts?

Got the ends of the strings tucked into the holes in the tuners? That little detail helps prevent slipping. (This may be too obvious, if so please disregard...)

I have one of my 6th grade beginner students got an EB-3... pretty nice, actually... he loves it (though he cabn't do much yet... beginner band starts off sloooow when you gotta teach 8 different instruments in one class)

Thats cool... tell him if he can learn to read music he'll be bad ass by 9th grade. I'm in 8th but I started in the 5th. I've actually had a lot of offers to be in bands but always their things is I have to read music. I read treble cleff but not bass. Another sorry thing is I know the tuning but I don't know what notes are on what frets, string (ect). I play by ear and tell him thats not cool when you first start out cause you'll get good at it and then you get to lazy to learn how to read music (because the stuff they have you play feels really easy compared to the songs you can play). Also tell him it's the player not the bass (but it sometimes could be the amp LOL). I just don't want kids to end up like me LOL

Tell him he's welcome here too... He needs to check out my threads to see what you shouldn't post about while you are young.
