You asked for a living room rig. There it is. I just bring down whatever bass from the studio upstairs. Even one of those little high pitched guitars sounds okay through it.

No living room space for me. An ugly industrial basement room. No fancy lighting, expensive carpeting or basses hanging on the wall. Just my three favorite amps and all my basses within reach (behind the camera). Nary a knob on noon. The heat pump air handler enhances the vibe. And all you folks who hate amplifier fan noise would LOVE this practice room.

It doesn’t have to be ugly.

Looking quickly you have a Sheetrock wall that is nice and smooth.

Add some color, bam no more ugly in your quotes.

I just play into my preamp at home or dormitory, in order not to disturb anyone. I used a Zoom B1Xon, then DSM Simplifier, and finally Ampero II Stomp. Even for rehearsal, I just plug whichever preamp I've got into the PA mixer.
I used to own an Ampeg PF-50T, in order to practise at home. Later I sold it for lack of use (even for gigging, it's a haul from my dorm to home, and then to the venue). But I'm soon getting married, and I'm thinking of something bolder for the new home, such as a vintage Acoustic 320! Of course I won't play it too loud at home to disturb my wife, though.

We look after my 99 year old mother-in-law , so I have a little practice nook at her place. Sometimes there’s several amps or cabs there , but the standard there is the Darkglass e500 with a PhilJones C2. My practice volume is not loud. The e500 is a digital amp you can program with a phone or tablet.

I also spend a lot of time using headphones with a BigHead headphone amp. At home I often use a little Aguilar rig , a TH350 into an SL112. Here I had just picked up a new amp to use with my Monique preamp. A little Jo Choui , made by Jonathon Chouinard. So I was trying out various cabs. Berg HDN 112 & 210 , and a little Barefaced One10.

I don't keep basses in there, but my wife did let me build a hi-fi in the living room. That's our living room rig.

 

[Five or Six]

I don't play in the livingroom. I don't want to disturb them and I don't want them disturbing me. I stay in my studio, that's why I built it.
