Show me your P's! Lol

So, here's the thing, I'm primarily a J player, so I have few pics of my P's unless they are accompanied by a J. So, here goes:

Double P (sorry Fender guys, although there was the Elite II in the 1980s). See below for specs.

This is the first Custom Shop Corvette NT that Warwick built. It was modeled after the 2001 Streamette, a very limited run of unusual basses that were equipped with mirrored P pickups. This bass, when it was built as a one-off, had gold hardware, EMG P5s and a MEC 2band. The previous owners all had trouble getting the pickups balanced across strings and it was traded around for a while. After contacting all previous owners and even the CEO of Warwick, I upgraded to EMG P5AX and corrected the pickup placement. Also Warwick in Nashville recently installed a MEC 3band and I switched to black hardware since this is now my baby. Plays like a dream, like it was meant to when it was first built back in 2007.

FrankenP with ‘71 Ash body, custom shop ‘61 pickups, and ‘17 Precision Special Edition B&B Jazz width neck; ‘93 Custom Shop RB Custom Classic. One flats, the other rounds, both have Hipshot detuners. And both match the archetypal Pbass sounds I hear in my head.

Is the “RB Custom Classic” for Rich Briere? I had a RB Custom Classic Jazz…wondering if there was a Precision, as well.

P.S. I approve of your choice of amplication…:D

Well you asked for it. LOL

L to R 2019 Fiesta Red nitro parts build. My 1960 refinshed in Oly White circa 1985. 2016 Midnight Blue P bass Special parts build. 2021 Capri Orange parts build. 2008 USA Black 'n' Maple P. Dated as a 2007 but verified by Fender as one of the first batches of the redesigned 2008's shipped to GC. My 2016 MIM Ocean Turquoise. Hiding on the floor hanging with the Star Destroyers on my Linux box is my Squier Black 'n' Maple 70's P bass.

So, this has been an interesting thread. The OP asked us to show him our Ps. Lots of great pics of bass guitars with various amounts of Pness.

It’s got me thinking, what exactly is a P bass. One could take a hardline view and say, if it doesn’t say Precision on the head stick, it not a P. Or, one could say, if it has a split single coil pickup, it’s a P. How about a P+J configuration?

Anyway, what is a P?
