Well, actually I know hardly anything about this bass. I bought it last weekend from a guy who said he found it from some attic.

It has pearloide inlay so I think it means it's made around '73.
The neckplate says "made in japan", no serial numberes. I guess that means it's made between 71-74.

Any help in identifying this bass is welcome! I will be able to get more pictures when I get it back home from my friend who is cleaning and adjusting it.

Couple of more pics for you. I have heard that no NR-model were ever made by ibanez, so i am a bit lost with this one :) but Harry from Ibanez Vintage Page is looking trough the pics too and tries to find some information.

And I played my first gig with this bass, worked well and sounded quite good. It may be old, but works real fine.

WoW! That is really a great looking bass, what a fantastic find, not something you see just everyday. A very cool bass, hang on to that one!

if that Ibanez was a normal reverseBird, I'm sure there are a few who would pay a lot to have it including me...Is that thing setneck/neckthru/bolt on?

I would love to know how many they actually did make before they stopped. 100? 50? 20?.... Too old to get accurate numbers i suppose.

another non reverse that is a work in progress. Note the Dasson Badbird bridge. "intonation without modification for you vintage '63-69 Thunderbird.

This one is bolt on. And as there is no serial number it's made before August 1975. More accurate year is quite impossible to know, i think so. But now, must go play some tunes with it...->

The scrap of a body was once and now again is a non reverse Thunderbird II. At some point in it's life it was converted to a guitar and then smashed in a parking lot. I took the fragment of a body and built it back up into it's proper form.
