Here is my contribution. An Epiphone T-Bird. Though I once had the opportunity to grab a Gibson T-Bird in white for $300. I never let that one down.

And my inspiration for getting a T-Bird...

You either "get" them or you don't.

From my experience with Gibson basses, they do what they do- not what you want them to do.

I like the "powder blue" colored Epiphone T-birds they started making recently, kinda like this one. If I had buttloads of cash to waste and Gibson made a model in the same color I'd totally jump on it.

Slab bodies on 76-79s, contours on the older and newer ones.




Epi and Orville made gig bags for their 'birds in Japan. I sold a canvas Epi one on eBay a while back. I'll probably put my Orville one up soon too because I never use it. Ritter also makes a gig bag especially for Thunderbirds. I've heard it's very nice.

gib's SHOULD be in a hardshell!!!!

anyway. I like it 2, but damn why didnt the painter use silver on the back to match the front??...oh well. a one of a kind due to the paint regardless, and I hope you win it ninja.

I just spent my October GAS cash on another bass, and when I get it in a few days I'll post pics and show everyone what it is....

gib's SHOULD be in a hardshell!!!!

Especially T-Birds with that dinky little nut width and that huge paddle headstock.

And how about that first pic- the pre 66 TBII... in a gig bag...

I'll have to take a pic side by side of my Epi and Dillion headstocks. my Dillion is a 1-1/2" nut like a Gibson, but the head is even BIGGER.

I never knew it until I saw so many other EPi's with a totally different grain on them. I took the neck off, and yep....take a look....

You'll likely do better with this question on Gibsonbass.com or bassoutpost, many more Gibson players there. That'll be from a 60's era bass, not many around here.

unlike the multi lam Gibsons this one should not have it but it does. I believe Epi used whatever they had in house and I just got lucky... I don't know..

TY for the massive G.A.S T-Bird has always been a dream bass of mine ghowever I kinda need a 5 string and definatly can't fork out a grand fro the Gibson TB V so I hope one day i find a cheap 5 string Clone that wants a loving home lol

I AGREE, I had to save the pic and lighten it up a bit to really see it, but hell ya. EVERYONE has the "standard" Tbird including myself, but I always like to see other companies interpretations on the Tbirds like a couple of my non Epi/Gib birds.
