Show us the Rob Allen basses!

Indeed it is. A bit unusual for a Rob Allen bass I think - most I've seen have more extravagantly figured top woods - but it's just what I wanted; tight grained, understated, and elegant.

Thank you all for the kind words! Now I have to go play my new bass some more...

Yeah, my MB2 http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5025131&postcount=342 has a pretty outrageous koa top, but the spruce is really understated, sweet.

Seeing all these wonderful basses really makes me want an MB2 fretted 6. Walnut or Alder body with an ebony fretboard. Maybe a redwood top?

I have other basses to finish first though!

I've been gassing for a six with a redwood or walnut top.

Heh, me too!!!

BTW, that MB2 6 is back at Bass NW.

Is this the same one that we were looking at a few months ago? I thought a TB'r nabbed it.

Was it Koa? Regardless, its lousy timing for me--has my name all over it--but I just got the new Clement and spent all my spare bass pennies.

A Koa-topped MB2-6 is far too sweet (and the case is ridiculous..you could throw it off a building).

For the record:

From a fellow named Takahiro Tamaya's blog (wonder if he is a TB member?). He's a huge fan who's visited the factory.

Its in japanese so i don't know who's collection this is or if its at the Rob Allen factory. Translation anyone?

No clue on translation, but that's probably the most Rob Allen basses I've seen in one place, next to Rich's collection.

BTW, I'm laying down the deposit next week for an MB2 6 string!!!

They have a place in Japan with that many RA's in stock? Moving to Japan now!

Btw: does Rob have a "factory". The impression I get from his website is its more like the "Rob Allen Shop" off the garage at his house. ????

You guys are not helping my extreme Rob Allen GAS.:crying:

I realize factory is a bit of an over-statement. Small commercial space seems more like it

Im glad that store is in Shibuya and not nearby. Amazing presentation of Rob Allen's....love the visual purity.
