I talked to Rob yesterday briefly about the P. It's still in progress, but it's closer done. Only one or two things left (the bridge is the main thing right now actually). His original idea wasn't working out for various reasons, so it's going to look a lot like an aluminum version of the bridge on my Deep 4 (which Rob actually said was the first production Deep completed; my P will be the first of the new line lol). He's probably going to have to put some metal plates under it to raise my action, or I'll get Mouradian to do it.
Funny thing, I told him he could just put a BadAss on it if he wanted and he thought I'd say that (heh), but he's going to make the bridge which is totally cool. I know it'll be worth the wait. Apparently the neck he made for the bass is a big hit with visitors to the shop despite it being a hunk of wood.
I'm hoping in the next month or so I'll have the bass.
I was talking to him about other things, and the Mouse came up. He said it's his most popular bass at the moment. I understand why - the one I tried at Bass Northwest played like buttah. It may seduce me at some point, but not now

Nice stuff you got going there. Love the tone on Ragu; Dubby Mwah. For me I'd like to hear the Conklin could cut through the mix more on Alloy Jim
Yeah, Alloy Jim didn't quite do it for me bass wise, either. To get a vintagey sound, I cut the highs, cranked the bass, and bumped the mids a bit, but it doesn't allow the higher notes to cut through. Ideally, I'd like to get a Rob Allen 6er to get that sort of sound naturally without messing with an EQ.
Me Too!!! But a friend of mine wants to build me something, so guess I'm gonna let him take a crack at it first.
I'm really diggin' the trio thing. Nice sound.
The Mouse/MB2/Conklin quiver gives a really nice range.
Yeah, same EQ on everything. I used my 3 band improperly on the Conklin, which really hurt the upper register. I'll be glad when I rerecord it.
