What was the build time from the time you put down your deposit? Your bass look awesome! Enjoy.

on June 23rd I confirmed all of the details on the order, but he received my deposit a few days before that. He didn't start until I confirmed all of the details, though. it was finished and ready to ship on Sep 9, so about 11 weeks (Rob told me it would be 12).

I think I'll have it on Wednesday or Thursday. It shipped UPS ground today.

Sexy Deep!

Very pure and simple. lets hear more about it: neck? top?

English Walnut top, Walnut/Ebony Neck, body Alder (standard, no ?).

Built 2004. Owner listed it twice on eBay UK, never made the reserve, though I had highest bid both times. After 2nd auction we exchanged a few more emails, and we eventually met up, I tried it (1st time I actually heard a Deep 5) and I bought it, obviously.

Very happy with it :)

Hey Sam,

Is the MB-2 6 string now a standard build for Rob (bodies in stock) or a pure custom?

I've been playing a fretless six string and the idea of a RA sixer may be what the bass doctor ordered.

I guess they're kinda/sorta pseudo custom in the sense he only builds them on demand, but he has the templates, so it's like he has to do everything from absolute scratch.

Still finalizing it, but leaning heavily towards the alder body with koa top. No f-hole as I'd prefer to keep a little more punchiness in the bass (and Rob says that no f-hole has a bit more punch). Will definately go with the bound headstock too. I will keep ya'll posted as this develops...
