Tom,
I think I have your sister mouse. Tops looks very similar.

You may be right! What a beauty!

Enjoy!!! :hyper:

Here's mine. It's an early one and according to Rob it was originally built for Carey Nordstrand. I actually sold it once and bought it back because I was going through "withdrawal". :D

It's so light and responsive, I love it!

Apparently a rare 'red wood', of what exact kind I can't remember.
(Although a lot of Rob's tops look rare. If not by wood type, by look & design.) One of only a few he experimented with, having very limited wood. The experiment was a huge success!

So Rob found another chunk of redwood.
(Mine is around 8 years old.)

I believe it's from the same slab. I'll ask him more in a few weeks when he's getting ready to build, but I think the top he was using was either a cut above or below this particular piece of lumber. They're usually thick enough that he can get several tops out of a given piece of lumber.

In a way, I'll miss the symmetry of a bookmatched top, but you don't see one-piece tops very often. :)

Just an FYI - if anyone wants to see the Rob P in person and you live in New England, I've got two gigs this weekend: one at the All Asia in Cambridge, MA, on Friday night and Saturday afternoon we're playing at the MA Special Olympics (I think we go on at 4 ... not sure though).

It'll be the RA through my IP112, LowEnd True Voice pre, and the Linden EQ.

While lusting at the site, I realized I like the MB-2 body much more than the Mouse body.

You think RA would build a 30"/short scale, but with the MB-2 body?

[Not that I have the funds. This is merely preparation for after the Lotto hit.]

I think Rob does a 32" scale custom on request and I think you can get it in 4 or 5 (high C only). I was kinda thinking about doing that next. Apparently 32" scale is the shortest where the neck and body look good in proportion and sounds about like a Mouse 30 due to less rigidity in the body/neck.
