I use the Epi VIola... I am going to give the ZZ Ryder a shot (after I get it back from the shop... jack problems... I tried to fix, but no soap )

The Antibeatle gets the call up this Sunday... Picked it up from the 12th fret with fresh strings and a pro setup... Left the Viola with em for a new set of flats and a setup...

For church gigs, I used an Alembic Distilate, Edenhaus Jazz, 2 modified P basses, Pilot bass and an Epi Jack bass, before settling on my RBV.

Here's what I've been playing for the last month or so (the Squier on the left):

I'm still working out a couple small "issues" with the P-bass on the right and may bring it along soon...it's a very fun little bass.

Occasionally, I'll bring the Carvin AC40...even though mine nis fretted, the LR Baggs piezo pickup makes it incredibly responsive and it really sings during worship.

I play through a Zoom B2.1u (use it for amp/cab sims more than any 'effects') I DI out of the zoom into the house and use a small Laney HCM65 (65W, 1x10 combo) as a foldback.

with reference to the Rob Allen, my carvin is similar (no mag pickup or thumb rest)...you simply don't

I use floating thumb technique, anyway, so it's never ever been an issue for me.

Here is my 99 MIA Jazz,Just getting that broke in smell.

It smelled of Harley exhaust as the Pastor did a few laps on his bike inside the auditorium last week for blessing of the bikes!

I play most weeks at my church and since i started playing in september i've used:
ibanez btb 6 string
vintage AV4 jazz bass
Home made headless project with emg pups
Fender Highway1 Jazz bass

I tend to rotate subconsciously but have been stck on the fender for a few months, its a solid bass to rely upon... solid like the rock i build my life upon!

Guess we have a few things in common.

• I used to use a Bongo 5, you still do
• You used to use an Alembic in service, I still do
• We both use Markbass heads in service. I use an F1

Been playing a SR5 but sometime next week I'll be switching over to a M5-24 sadowsky. I play through a SWR 210 workingman's combo (a newer one) sometimes through my U5 into a nice PA system.
