My 98 is 34", totally Fender spec. Best neck i have ever played. It was my first bass bought new for $220. It has MEC active pups from a Warwick with passive tone controls. If it plays well and speaks to you, go for it.

Great news!! Do you think that the fingerboard is rosewood or can it be Pau Ferro? These are awesome Squier, never heard of them before

An interesting caveat about this
MIK Epiphone basses that start with a 'U' came from the 'Un Sung' factory
MIK Dean basses that start with 'US' came from the 'Un Sung' factory
MIK Dean basses that start with 'E' came from the 'World' factory
Any chance the MIK Squires that also start with an 'E' mean that the came from the 'World' factory in Korea as well?
I am guessing the MIK Squires that start with 'S' came from the 'Samick' factory in Korea?

So guys, here's what I'm getting in a few days, I'm excited. The body has been damaged but I planned a refinish for a coloured body. Do you see something important I could be missing? Thanks a lot for your time :)

My '87 Squier Bullet Bass MIK garage sale find for $35. The pickups were shot so I replaced them with Fender '62 Originals. Have played it out a few times with good success. There is a bit of neck dive likely due to the shorter top horn, but it's not unbearable. Great find for a little over $100 in it.

What a find!! It looks neat!! But is it Fender spec'd? The body shape looks different, really beautiful

I have the bass in my hands... The neck is dead. Truss rod was never adjusted. Fingerboard never cleaned. It's all wraped and I maxed out the truss with no luck. It's not having a curve or a flat line. It's wavy. I guess the neck can be thrown away... :(

I'm so mad at myself for buying without seing first. A lesson learnt the hard way... Sure it has a 70s PU spacing Jazz Bass body that I could sand now and refinish and a pair of Original 62 Jazz Pickups... but I'm feeling down cause I really wanted that bass to be 'rosewood backup' of my Geddy Lee; too bad! :(

Edit: body is a "4-pieces" plywood type and I try to remove a chunk of the black paint and a layer of the plywood came with it... that bass is a piece of junk!!! :( Only the 62 pickups are worth something... Which I have paid 250 for.

Sorry for your bad luck. I bought mine new in 98, definitely Poplar body not plywood. I read somewhere that the P basses from the same era were plywood. Not that plywood is inherently bad, i have a Cort P bass that's plywood, play's and sounds great!

Sadly for me, there's nothing really good :( I'll try to sand the body, fix the missing chunk, repaint and finish it... attach a good neck I have in my hands (a 2013 Affinity P neck with good linearity and hardware, I was impressed)... will call that a day. :( The Chinese Squier really were the best (can't pronounce myself for the Japanese ones)

Just picked a jazz at a pawn shop. Needs quite a bit of work, and will show everyone once I make some progress.
But I want to get a new pickguard instead of the super white one that was one it. Not sure what kind to order
as I have a few jazz pickguards laying around and none of the wholes lined up. I am guessing a Fender Japan pickguard may work. Anybody has any leads?
