My son also has one of these Fender P Bass Squier series from Korea - sweet slim neck on these. Body I believe is plywood but plays great.I have the P bass version of this. The pics are somewhere in this thread.

My 98 is 34", totally Fender spec. Best neck i have ever played. It was my first bass bought new for $220. It has MEC active pups from a Warwick with passive tone controls. If it plays well and speaks to you, go for it.

The strip has been added. The bridge pickup looks a long way back, although it may just be the angle of the photo. I thought they were 60s spacing, but I may well be wrong on that.
Anyway, nice looking bass!![]()
My '87 Squier Bullet Bass MIK garage sale find for $35. The pickups were shot so I replaced them with Fender '62 Originals. Have played it out a few times with good success. There is a bit of neck dive likely due to the shorter top horn, but it's not unbearable. Great find for a little over $100 in it.

The top horn is shorter than a normal Precision. Aside from that, it's really similar to my other P basses. The neck is the best part! It's c-shaped and very comfortable.
Enjoy it, bro!! On Tuesday, I'll grab my Jazz MIK...
Anybody knows how the pickup routings are made? Thanks!!
I have the bass in my hands... The neck is dead. Truss rod was never adjusted. Fingerboard never cleaned. It's all wraped and I maxed out the truss with no luck. It's not having a curve or a flat line. It's wavy. I guess the neck can be thrown away...![]()
Sorry for your bad luck. I bought mine new in 98, definitely Poplar body not plywood. I read somewhere that the P basses from the same era were plywood. Not that plywood is inherently bad, i have a Cort P bass that's plywood, play's and sounds great!
1989 Squier II Samick precision
Indeed.... I am about to send it over for setup next week so it will be done altogetherThat's a beauty. Surely it deserves a clean though?![]()
