Mjt body in Aztec gold , roasted vintera ‘50s precision neck , fender originals ‘62 pup , if anyone has a gold pickup cover/ashtray for a Precision lmk please
Sequel to my previous post:
Today, I completed the P Bass sibling to my Jazz Bass. The parts for my new P are practically identical to the Jazz. All parts were sourced and assembled separately…
- Fender Player II body (birch green)
- Fender aftermarket roasted maple precision neck
- Lollar standard wind pickup
- StewMac premium wiring kit
- Hipshot B-style aluminum bridge
- Hipshot Ultralite USA tuners
- Dunlop strap locks
- Other components I purchased: pickguard, pickguard screws, control knobs, neck plate/screws, and string tree.
- I had a luthier/repair shop install a bone nut and PLEK the frets.
- I shielded the cavities with copper foil.
All in, this bass cost me $1,592, and it plays and sounds on par with a $4,000 custom shop bass.

Classic 50’s body , classic 70s replacement neck , dirnt pickup
Warmoth body , roasted vintera jazz neck , area J pickups

Fender Road Worn neck.
MJT 3tsb body.
Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups.
Avantguard tortoise celluloid pickguard.
1968 Fender bridge plate, control plate, tug bar, string tree. (Fender Pure Vintage saddles, strap buttons, knobs)
Fender J-bass mutes and chrome pickup covers are in the case.
TI Jazz flatwound strings.
1972 Fender case.

Thanks man! It's actually Sassafras.
There was very little waiting for the Avantguard. I didn't order one. I simply checked their website daily (for a week or two) until this one popped up for sale...

Thanks a lot! I'm really pleased with how it turned out. It sounds and feels really great!
Btw, Sassafras was used in some mid-1950s sunburst Stratocasters (and perhaps other colours or models?) that we would normally expect to be Alder, so it's not unprecedented to see this in a vintage inspired instrument, too.

Did some tweaking to the blonde jazz. Swapped out the neck pickup with a real pre cbs 1961 pickup I forgot I had laying around. I also swapped the stacked circuit for the traditional vvt setup. I barely use one tone, why have two?
Now all it needs is its new neck from musikraft. Currently have a fiesta red neck as a placeholder.

Just got this in from @jbhaugh via the classifieds , light 1 piece ash body , came with a killer rosewood neck , but I swapped it out for a classic 50s/vintera maple precision neck , first Dark star , I swapped the bridge need to adjust the pickup a tiny bit for better alignment, the pickup is killer , might need to grab another from Novak to put in the next one
