Thanks. Warmoth body and neck and a Duncan Stinger stack pickup. I put a 32" conversion neck on it and now it looks like this.

Squier Classic Vibe '60s Olympic White body (purchased with stock bridge and neck plate with screws)
Squier Classic Vibe '70s bound and blocked Jazz neck (purchased with stock tuners, string tree and nut)
DiMarzio DP122 pickup
CTS pots, PureTone jack, .47 cap on tone, black pickguard and flat top chrome knobs, all from my parts box.

I installed the pickup with a quick connect setup so that if I want to swap out pickups quickly, I can. My first bass had a DiMarzio pickup like this back in 1990 and I have always loved the sound. I wanted this bass to be able to recapture that. Playing this bass is like a walk down memory lane.

This my parts bass. It started as a Starshine I purchased from eBay. The neck is a Chinese after market. Tuners, control plate, knobs and string retainer are from all parts. Pickups are Bassmod 5 strings. The electronics are Tone Monster PTE 3 knob system. Pickguard is a Etsy find.

Since we're showing off our non-production concoctions......This is the closest thing I have to a "parts bass", but I love it so I'm posting anyway.

John Wymore spec'd it and did the assembly when he was making custom-spec'd FSO's. Can't recall where the wood parts came from, but it wasn't Warmoth.

> Originally it came with stacked controls ala '60 Fender Jazz, complete with resistors. Sounded choked, or constipated with that setup. Dumped the stacks for VVT, but with a 500K vol pot for the P pickup. Both of those minor changes unleashed all the previously pent up Fralin goodness, while cleaning up the lowest freqs at the same time. Wow what a terrific sounding bass!

These last few years it's been morphing more towards Surf Green....

Here in Sydney you can pick up used “Artist” brand basses cheap as chips so I combined a lefty short scale neck with a righty body. I reshaped the headstock as I’m partial to the Tele shape. I had a set of EMG Geezers so they went in too. Pieced together a set of old flat wounds to put on it. Kind of a fun little bass. Not bad for parts.

Really some impressive parts basses in this thread! Keep ‘em coming!

I was about to reply to your original, deleted post when it suddenly went away. I was gonna suggest you get a control plate that would cover up just enough of the routing, so your bass could show off more of it's fantastic grain, 'cuz that guard covers up a lot of it's natural coolness.

Was definitely thinking that too , I made a couple of mockup control covers out of wood and a pickguard before I drilled for the guard , and was thinking of control plate pickup bezel , but in the end it’s just not the aesthetic I like , it’s a crime to cover it I agree , but sometimes crime is the only way
