Having played 5 stringers, I find having the extra C string really opens so many different chordal options when writing music, all all the notes of a 4/5 string are within the 5th and 12th frets no my 6 string, which means less shifting but the patterns are identical throughout.It definitely does require a lot more finesse and focus! I am enjoying all the extra room on the fretboard!
And I also don't think I'll ever stop playing four string. It's a whole lot of fun in a whole different way.
I do find it interesting that I prefer the four and six, but not the five as much. I wonder what that's about.
