Show your Ashdown

Got a question for you Ashdown brothers. How does a pair of ABM 410H work with ABM 900 EVO II amp? I'm into punchy warm round tone. So far my amp works great with GK NEO 412 but I feel like going full Ashdown. I like mids, no booming lows and no hi fi high end.

I use an ABM 900 EVOIII with the ABM 810 and it is a nice sounding rig. I think the 410H cabs are tuned slightly lower than the 810, so may do a bit better than the 810 with regards to a low B string or drop tunings.

The 410H is a great cabinet though (IMO) so 2 should sound pretty beasty under the ABM 900!

I must remember to get a decent pic of my collection since the CTM 300 has been added!

Here's my MAG300 combo. It's been my workhorse for about 6 years, never once a problem. I'm saving up for the CTM100 to replace this one. The MAG will become my backup amp.

Mine's an Ashdown ABM500 RC EVOIII with 2x ABM 410H's, with the black speaker cones instead of blue. The owner of the shop I bought it all from said that the cabs had once been used by Tony Butler from Big Country for a one-off show somewhere in Scotland, but I don't know whether or not that's true. :smug:

IIRC a few years ago there was a "Classic Series" that was made in the USA. That looks like a sweet cab, how's it sound?

I have a fender super bassman and a neo 610 fender cab also, only had this ashdown rig a week, but initial impression is the ashdown is more tubey sounding , the fender sounds a little more sterile.
Anyway, what do make of the jack plate saying neodymium yet I thought the beta 10 eminence speaker was not neo?

I just bought this cab , but the labeling is confusing it says classic series on the front, USA series and neodymium drivers on the rear but has eminence beta series speakers in it , not neos. What cab is this ? ThanksView attachment 730118View attachment 730119
These cabinets were made in Kentucky, I believe. They were supposed to be lower cost because of the wood and speakers being locally sourced. They cost more and I am pleased they used Eminence Beta speakers. When I bought a used ABM 610 it had a half-blown speaker at the bottom. I bought a Beta to replace it and I think they are a good replacement 10 for almost any Ashdown 8ohm 10.

Looks like the photo link died in my other post. Here's my UK-made Ashdown ABM500 Evo II 210. Spruced-up with some fresh tolex and grill cloth and completely brought up to spec by a local Ashdown-certified shop. It's for sell, btw.

I got the ctm 300 paired with a ashdown 610 USA cab.
As it has kt88s in it it sounds very British/ Marshall like to me
The gain is very hot, and starts to break up at about 9oclock, so if you want clean and loud I have to have the gain at 8 o'clock and the master way round at about 2 o'clock . The eq knobs have a very subtle effect and if I want to adjust it is more noticeable to use the buttons above the knobs .
The cab is sealed and divided into three chambers horizontally and is a it darker/ deeper than the fender Neo 610 I have. One thing I have to change on the cab is there is no runners or slides on the back and the plastic speaker jacks stick out .
Over all i like the rig , it's very warm and does the tubey sounding thing very well ,plus it is a good looking rig , which is important to me! Hope this helps you " I am soma"
