The gain is very hot, and starts to break up at about 9oclock, so if you want clean and loud I have to have the gain at 8 o'clock and the master way round at about 2 o'clock . The eq knobs have a very subtle effect and if I want to adjust it is more noticeable to use the buttons above the knobs .
The cab is sealed and divided into three chambers horizontally and is a it darker/ deeper than the fender Neo 610 I have. One thing I have to change on the cab is there is no runners or slides on the back and the plastic speaker jacks stick out .
Over all i like the rig , it's very warm and does the tubey sounding thing very well ,plus it is a good looking rig , which is important to me! Hope this helps you " I am soma"

Thanks man! I'm a big overdrive/distortion guy so the lack of clean headroom doesn't sound like an issue :)

Here's a pic of my Ashdown Rig! It comprises of the ABM EVO III Neo 210 400 watt combo plus the ABM Neo 210 500 watt extension cab, both with horn.

The combo sounds brilliant on its own but once coupled to the 2 x 10 extension cab it takes it to another level! It's not just the addition of the extra speakers, I think it's something to do with it going down to 4 ohms and it seems to unleash a whole new dimension.

Extremely powerful sound, as much volume as I could possibly want but is as equally manageable at lower volume settings.

I decided to go for the 2 x 10 extension cab over the 1 x 15 as past experience with a Trace Elliot rig I found a 15 too muddy a sound for me. The 4 x 10's give more than enough bottom end for my purpose.

The combo and extension cab both have the Sica Neodynium Speakers and as the cabs are of 15mm birch ply they are very light indeed.

So far I'm more than pleased with my Ashdown equipment, however I feel with equipment of this value they would be supplied with covers, and the Footswitch to control some of the features on the amp is at additional cost. I have ROQSolid Covers for all of my equipment and they fit Ashdown amps very well.

Ive got an Ashdown ctm head, but have become pretty frustrated with the subtle (some might say non-existent EQ).

The bta has the evo preamp correct? How would you describe the differences between the bta and the fender 300?

BTW - I've always enjoyed your posts over the years.

I think the BTA/EVO preamp is a little more colored (like Ashdown is) than the fender. Its not much, but the fender seems REALLY transparent. The Ashdown has a bit more baked in lows and low mids for that vintage vibe when set flat, but the eq is very powerful and can easily compensate for that. Like the fender i can coax almost any tone i want out of it.

My ABM sitting on top of a Rumble cab. Planning to add a second cab at some point. Please disregard the smashed gain knob. FedEx and I disagreed on whether I needed it or not, and it's actually out having that pot and knob replaced.
