Show your Bill Fitzmaurice cab

Thanks kindly, Bill! That size would be perfect and weight is no problem. Two O15s would be one too many? Or perhaps there's another model that is better-suited for the second cabinet?
Unless you plan on playing stadiums with no PA support you won't need a second cabinet. You'll probably find the O15 more than you need for smaller gigs, so if you want to use the second JBL put it in an OmniTop 15 as a more portable option for where the O15 is unwarranted.

Omni15 drived by a Crown XTi 1000, with active filtering on 15" and 8". A true high end cab, the best I own :hyper:

Alright, you guys are killing me. Got to get working on one. :) That is sweet dude!

They'll probably be fairly similar in volume, but I think you'll find the omni to have the cleaner sound of the two. I gave mine a full volume test outdoors last weekend and found it to be quite impressive. I put eminence kappalites in mine.

As far as "my sound" goes, I'll use my 15" Carvin and my 212 Carvin for the studio tone. I'm needing to be heard right now. So I'm under the impression you built the OT2x15 and not the 1x15 and just kinda curious, is there a decent volume curve when turning up the master volume? Ie. volumeset on 4 is way to loud but put it on 3 and yu cant hear it or is smooth and predictibal as you turn it up. The reason I ask is I have a good friend that has couple of way older horn loaded Carvin 15's and they go from not so loud to way to loud real easy.

Pop two Deltalite II 2510's in this cab and you'll find it will be following you to the gigs and not just sitting around at practice! ;)

Mo

I dont know to be honest.

I have two Deltalite II 2510s en-route, that i ordered up last week, but, its going to take a lot to even get close to me replacing my 810.

My 810 may not be the loudest beast about, but it fits the sound perfectly, which im not sure the O10 will to be honest.

Im not saying it wont be a good cab, im just saying currently my personal preferences for live music are using a sealed 810 (Inefficient and outdated cab, but hell, it sounds awesome).

Hey, I have a question...

Now that I have been following this thread which seems very interesting...

Since the BF cabs seem to do a great job of cutting out mud and boom, via no second and third overtones, which is great, how can you add a bit of fullness, is that done at the driver level...

Basically, I have been looking at Accugroove Cabs, Epifani Cabs, and Berg IP's... I like the clarity of the EA stuff, but the fullness of the Accugroove stuff...

Basically, I have been on a quest for totally clear and articulate, without losing the fullness of each note... From AG, I have noticed that I gain the fullness I like, but get boom in the midbass... from EA, I get the clarity, but not the fullness...

BAsically, I want to get an EA CXL-112 clarity with fullness to each individual note...

So, I listened to the clips that were put up earlier in this thread and they sound great, I'm just curious on a driver level, what kind of drivers do you use if your a percussive slap and tap player and are looking for fullness to all notes without any boom or mud...

Basically, I need info on drivers, and which companies use what drivers, and which are good for what etc...

Thanks...

I think you and I both are in the same boat... ;)
Interested to see what you turn up with.

Don't think for a moment that two 2510s in an O10 will replace an 8x10; I'm a speaker designer, not a magician. OTOH, two 2510 loaded O10s would give an 8x10 a pretty good run for the money.

Seriously man...

I've been all over the place this time...

I used to just buy and sell to my liking... this time I'm trying to buy and thats it hehe... Thats why this interests me, because if I screw up, or don't like the end result, the overall cost won't kill me...

Another question for the crowd here...

would it be possible, obviously accounting for extra box volume in the design, etc... to build an Omni 10... except with 3 10's at 2.67 ohms, then with the cross firing tweeter array... Hence getting a good design for close range, with added output over the normal omni 210... I think that would sound awesome for my application, which would be smaller clubs and bars, because on bigger venues I would just be using it for personal monitoring and using PA for the front...

Cuz right now... It's basically DR250, Omni 15, or this custom iteration of the omni 10...

I'm thinking of the Jr. actually, but I saw this thread and figured it was worth a look at least. :)

The Omni 10 Looks like a good bet. I wanted something to define the high end a little more, The Tweet in my 2-12 finally crapped. I winded up just disconnecting it and now I find myself lacking in the upper and upper mid. I really just want something to define all freq. Though, I really like what my 2-12 does, I want more.

Bump...this is what I want...is this what I will get?

How about making an omni 10 with 2510's and then a half sized omni 10.5 with a single 2510. then you have the option of practice/small gig, med gig, bigger gig. still 3 drivers, still avg 2.7 ohms, but without any modifications and with some added flexibility.
