SHOW YOUR BLACK BASSES!!!

Only one black bass, but I have two black pickguards!

Here's my latest purchase. 1980's era MIJ P Bass body, Bill Lawrence Wilde P-46 pickup, Schaller machine heads, Gotoh bridge and Warmoth birds eye maple fretless Jazz neck with rosewood 'board plus a Warmoth fretted neck with reverse headstock. The fretless neck needs some work so the fretted neck will go on soon for a short while. I'll be looking for another black body to put one of the necks on. No point having a spare neck laying around doing nothing.

That's got to be the blackest of black basses in the history of black basses. Well done!!

Here are some nice choices for bass bodies
my transactions with them have been very good..

They do have some nice stuff. Thanks for the link. I've got to balance out the advantages of getting a pre-loaded body that just needs a neck attached, which I have, with the high cost of those bodies. Sure, they really aren't that expensive for what they are, but they're still more expensive than any bass I own. Don't get me wrong, i've got a few nice instruments now, it's just that i've gotten them at bargain prices.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has ever bought anything from Guitar Fetish. They have this painted P bass body at only $55 plus around $15 for a pickguard. A decent pickup is around $100 over here and a bridge about the same. But then there are pots and wires, another $50 + so then i'm looking at similar money to a preloaded body from STRATosphere.

Decisions, decisions........

i have purchased hardware and pick ups from guitar fetish for parts builds/basses (decent to good or better quality), but no experience with their necks or bodies...yet: i do keep them in mind and i shop their site when i'm thinking about making any changes.

i liked your new bass in another thread, but i'm glad i get to like it here as well: black fretless = way cool!

Jeez... Mine isn't as cool or expensive as a lot of the basses on here, but the neck is my favorite that I've played, and it was an absolute STEAL. Late 80s Korean-made Squier II Precision Bass. I think I'm going to replace all the hardware with black, and string it with DR Black Beauties. The potentiometers need to be replaced, but the pickup sounds amazing!
