i Love it mate! not enough greeen basses around.
tasteful but menacing! good stuff.
(ever wonder where these dudes that own 16 conklins e.t.c get the cash?)

First let it be said that three of my many bass idols are on this post (Jauqo, Jean Baudin, and John Turner). Given this had been in person I would shake your hand or bow down to you or something, but its not, so I wont. Secondly, despite the fact that Alizee is married, she would gladly leave him for me, because I'm cool like that :) I wish....
Thirdly, Lokire, your Ken Lawrence is very, very cool. Its very similar to something I have in mind that will be built one day. Would you mind giving the specs? Or at least what the top wood is? And one final question.... what pickups are in Marchlewski basses?

Thanks. It's the one for me :)

Mahogany Body Wings
Ash Center Block
Coco-Bolo Top
Maple neck / fingerboard
Walnut (? maybe) bindings
Benavente Pickups / Pre
Rosewood Pickup Covers
Gaboon Ebony Playing Ramp

:hyper:

I don't see any binding on it. Maybe the wengle laminate under the top on the body? Is that what you are talking about?

Yeah, I guess you would call that a laminate. I had thought it was Walnut before, but now that I have a Warwick Streamer with a Wenge fingerboard, it does look like it might be Wenge.

Basically, on the KL, wherever two woods meet there's a layer of that Wenge seperating them. It also circles each of the screw holes on the back of the neck and the back control cover plate is made of it.

A few LARGE pictures showing the laminates a little better:

You can browse around my photobucket account too - there's tons of pics of the Ken Lawrence there :)

Here are my customs

(L-R)
1)-Black Dingwall ABI Fretless..... custom because its the first for Dingwall.

2) Skjold Pro-series w/ upgraded electronics/hardware. looks amazing in person, the wood grain just kills.

3) Dingwall SuperJ bass#001. The prototype from which all are now built. Reversed headstock, P/J-pickups, RMC piezo bridge (w/ polydrive), U-retro preamp. 34.75"E-33" G. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
